Nice, I hate to point out though that the bridge cover is a p bass cover.You can fix that though.

Agreed the covers have been removed .....nice bass and she is very aggressive with the qp's. So now 1 jazz with sd-1 , 1 with sd-2 and a cv with sd-3.... a trifectaNice, I hate to point out though that the bridge cover is a p bass cover.

Thanks. Im still not 100% on the fiesta red but i do find the overall bass appeals to me more now.
The whole idea of the neck is that at some point ill get a bass in another colour, probably 3TSB/Black or white, and ill be able to put this neck on it. No more worrying about having to get a bass with a jazz neck.
I really wanted a Matt Freeman, as the Black and maple really appeals to me, but not with the P neck. Now its feasible to get one second hand and put this neck on it.
Ive had a few basses that wouldn't set up quite right and have resorted to putting flats on to get rid of fret buzz etc, but always end up going back to rounds after a while.
I now keep a set of chromes that i put on every time i feel i need a change. I like flats but miss the overtones that rounds give.

With stock strings (I suppose they were Fender) I had fret buzz when played with a pick, no matter if action was 4mm, I don't know why :/ I used to have action at 3mm (E and A strings) and 2.5mm (D and G strings).
With GHS flats I have no fret buzz (playing with a pick), and the action is around 2mm.

I am new to flats too. Had a set of Fender flats on my 50's p and didn't like the tension. Just put LaBellas on and its a dream to play now. They flex like rounds and are cheaper than TI's. Way smoother than Fender's, polished and slick. Worth the premium pricing.

I know the Js and Ps are basswood, which if I'm right is a fairly soft wood, that seems to be very prone to dents.
How's the finish hold up on these?

That looks like the bass version of my Strat. Same color, same color pickguard, same rosewood fretboard, same single pickup, same jack on pickguard.
I played both a LPB and a BSB '50s CV P-Bass today. I was impressed. I'm looking to buy one sometime after the first of the year. The only decision left to be made is what color. The BSB would match my Tele, but I love the LPB as well. I'll be sure to post photos when I get it.
yeah those Butterscotch 50s Ps are calling me..... really no reason I can think of not to eventually have one of each CV....oh and a Matt Freeman sig...and heck one of those about to be released J Mascis Jazzmasters look hawt too!
Been there, bought the blond babe. GAS is gone now. Really between her and the 70's vm jazz, I really don't need or want anything else, except for an attic find vintage $50 deal. Oh and except for my mij Beatle bass and mij Venture eb-2 copy that I got rid of when I was fifteen in 79. If I knew how to set up a bass back then, or kept them and worked on them now....damm.
Ah, i wondered why there had been no notification emails.
Ive just (finally) got my PG sorted out. for those tht missed the issue i had, i had put in a pup that was slightly bigger than standard size so i couldn't get a new PG to fit without filing it down and after making a bit of a mess with the stock PG i couldn't be bothered to do it with the new one.
Ive now got a Fender 62 Original pup in and its a perfect fit for the black PG i've had for a while, so here it is fitted.
I now like the Fiesta red a lot more with the black PG on. I've never been keen on Fiesta red (i love Cherry red) and along with the tort PG i just couldn't get on with the looks of this bass but now i love it.

I finally managed to get a pic of both my Squiers.
The Jazz now has a Gotoh 201 bridge, Wizard 74 pickups and a set of DR Black Beauties. I took this out for the first time in ages last night and it sounded fantastic. It made a nice change from the P.
The Strings are second hand but i got them for a good price. I wanted to give them a a try and i wasn't too impressed with the Neons i had last year.
I think ill leave the P as it is now. There is only the body and jack socket left of the original CV P so im not sure that it even counts any more.
I think these two basses will last me for a fre years now. I have no GAS for any other basses, partly due to our gigs dropping off a bit so im not as in to it as i was a year ago, but also for the fact that i have two basses that will probably do all i need.

I'm ordering one of these A.S.A.P., get over with this G.A.S. episode that's bee lasting for almost 3 years now and if I feel like it I might just re-paint it (In translucent finish, obviously!)
The pickguard looks a little bit cheap though...
