Yes!!!I have the exact same bass, color and everything, and the special pickups as well, I love it.
can anyone tell me where I can get a customized pickguard for the squire p bass? 14 holes
also how to eliminate the noise/buzz from the pickups, it seems any where I play I get the same anoyying buzz.

Sweet looking bass! To eliminate the buzz you can do several things: first check all electrical connections (solder joints) to make sure they are solid; two, use shielding in the pickup and control cavities and add copper shielding to the underside of the pickguard; three, make sure you have a bridge ground. The setup forum can help you with all of these options. The shielding is the cheapest and usually most efficient mod you can make to eliminate buzzing.

my squier silver series precision - I'm in the process of modding this, might even relic it at some point, change then decal etc. though i do quite like having the squier decal on a bass

I think it's dated at 1993 (P003116 - quite an early number)

I'm about to confuse the issue even further. Picked this up at my local GC the other day.

Made in Korea (1993 in the Cort factory, from what little research I've done).

Controls, as far as I can tell, are volume/volume/stacked treble & bass, with a two-way active/passive switch. The little led lights up when you switch to active. Backplate has a trim pot to adjust the preamp output.

I've not seen another quite like it.

Gorgeous bass , did it come with the ashtray cover , I know this sounds like a dumb question so forgive me but but do you have to take the cover off when you change the strings

cheers! I'm glad you like it!

no, i added that myself (i want to get a precision bridge cover now though) and it depends on wether you have a string through bridge or not as to wether you need to take it off to change strings. I do have to take it off, as i've still got the stock bridge - and I've not yet drilled the holes for a thru-body bridge.

Thanks I'll try one or more of those ideas.<BR> I also heard about the EH hum debugger and might try that as well.

I have been looking for a custom pickguard for my Squire P bass. the clinker is that it has 14 holes not the standard 13.
also need a color that goes with dark green. I like the abalone or tortoise shell look-3 ply.
Any suggestions Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:help:

You can try Warmoth, Pickguardian, basspartsresource.com and a few other I can't think of at the moment. Most will need a tracing of your pickguard in order to make you a pickguard for a Squier bass.

Count me in as a Squier lover as well. I picked up a 5-string Jazz Bass & it's great! What can I say? I saw Rush this weekend and had to have a 5-string Geddy style bass. ;)

I bought it with the intention of getting it modded. Currently, it's getting the following mods.
New pots, input jack, bone nut, custom handmade pups by Lynn Collins & he's dying the fretboard black to get more of an ebony look.

How did you do the holes for the screws to hold the cover in place, I will be adding ashtrays to my squier soon but the body is made of agathis (cheap funny wood) and I have visions of the finish splintering or worse the wood cracking, as you can tell im not the diy type

Just picked up a Vintage Modified TB, so I'm sporting double-fisted Squiers ATM. And if you've played one of these Teles, you know that's not all I'm sporting! :D

My Precision Special may be up for sale at this rate. Wow, I'm having a new-bass honeymoon.
