Squier Vintage Modified Precision V: who's got one?

Brought this guy home from pawnshop today, wearing ramps. Who does that on a P? Anyway, removed, added a little relief to the neck, raised strings a tiny bit, and now we're ready for tonight's maiden voyage gig.
Welcome aboard! A Hipshot Kicka$s bridge and swanky new pickguard would take care of almost all evidence of the ramps. I swapped out the tort on mine but still have it around.
Used mine last night thru my Quilter BB800/Berg HG410 with a VT Bass Deluxe. Sounded great. Still stoked with the M&V Atlas pick up. Highly recommended. Punchy with good low end girth.
My M&V Atlas gets along really well with my 800RB and Edison tube preamp. I am itching to get a matching M&V in my four-string, but they are moving shop this month and the wait is agony. It’s the only missing piece, haha!
Actually just sold my Mike Dirnt Squier with my 4 string atlas in it. It was a difficult decision. Keep getting messages from the new owner saying how good it sounds...
anyone swap the neck out for one with a rosewood fretboard? if so, which one fits, and how'd you like it?

I’m very impressed. I brought it with me on a 10 day cruise gig and ended up playing it over my Musicman Stingray.
It’s comfortable to play, lightweight and sounds great strung with TI’s.
I’m flying interstate tomorrow for another cruise gig and can only bring one bass in my SKB Bass Safe. I opted for the P5.

Well....just got my hands on my 2013 VMPV, and started 'upgrading' it to my liking. Took sandpaper to the back of the neck, up to 1400 grit, and it is silky smooth now. Polished the frets with 0000 steel wool. Can you see which ones are shiny now? More details below.
I'm still waiting on the flatwounds to arrive, so I put the stock strings back on to adjust height and intonation for now. Went with hipshot string retainers, a 2 and a 3. Also a hipshot bridge...sustain is incredible now. (primarily got the hipshot bridge to correct the bad string spacing...strings were shifted up to the B side too much...perfect now) Don't know what else I have in store for it (perhaps a black pg) other than the new strings. Love it!!!!!

They still turn up occasionally. I had my eye out for a few months earlier this year, during which a craigslister flaked on a deal for a white one, and somebody snaked me on eBay for a red one, so I pounced when this sunburst one came up on reverb. I would have preferred the red or white until I got the burst, but it quickly became my thing. I even got a Fender four-string to match!

I'm thinking about letting mine go, it's got quite a few nice upgrades. I'ts role has been sitting in the case for several months.

Sweet duo! If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get the black pick guard?
Pickguard Planet out of Chico! They’ll make you any pickguard you want in any number of colors and layers and whatnot if you send them an original. I went with them because I liked the cheap black/red/black one I picked up on a whim for the Fender four-string, but wanted quality, matching pickguards on these in black/orange/black. Neagle Luthier out of Texas stocks a nice black/white/black one that fits the VMPV, and if I hadn’t found the orange, I would have happily kept that on this instrument and got one for the twin. I have not dealt with Pickguardian personally but many members seem to like them (I have no reason not to, just haven’t gotten around to it, haha), so that’s another possibility.
Gentlemen, any info on the stock pickup magnet type?

Would like to know for sure, since I was looking for a pbass with traditional alnico pups and this thing popped up on sale here for 450$ which is kinda pricey so I want to be sure
I know it sounds good and built well and all.
But I could add a couple hundred $$ and get a mexican player, but I was kinda fancy trying out a fiver P
