Whoa back that train up a second there friend, there's a TB discount on MF?

Ut oh, was that supposed to be a big secret? I'll say no more until I see some feedback that it's not top-secret!
Why would it be topsecret if it was for members? Or you just got the super-secret-squirrel handshake-a-jig. In that case, PM me.![]()
I just did a live chat at musiciansfriend. Here's a copy paste of that chat:
------------------------------------------------------------
Emily: Hi, my name is Emily. How may I help you?
bassnyc1: Is there a discount for members of the online forum talkbass.com?
Emily: Unfortunately, I don't believe so. Do you have a question about a product?
bassnyc1: Before that I want to tell you that it was mentioned in our forum. A member said that he HAD gotten a talkbass discount from Musicians Friend so since you say "I don't believe so" are you sure?
Emily: We usually have promotions running quite frequently, that may have been what that member was referring to.
We will be having more promotions within the upcoming week.
But I will check on any sort of membership discounts.
bassnyc1: Thank you for your help!

So, no straight answer from them. Seems unlikely but hopefully someone else will be able to find out more.
...
Also are there any real differences between the solids and the burst. Some people seem to indicate that it's lighter? Is the tone affected by this?
I'M GETTIN ME ONE OF THESE !!!!!!
Im definitely getting one, but Im holding out for a while in hopes of finding a burst with nicely-matching pieces. If I dont, I might just go with the white one.

This bass is totally worth the years of waiting for a REAL 5-string P from Squier. The maple neck is a sweet feature I was hoping for. It is a solid axe, very playable. I like to keep my tone all the way down, slightly high action, and really dig in when I play repeated notes. The tone is classic Precision Bass - I'm very happy with this instrument!
