I would think it would be more widely known here if existed.
Ive been kinda keeping track of whats been going through Sweetwater for a while, where they list the weight of the instruments in stock, and so far I havent seen anything that would indicate a difference between the bursts and the solid colors.
Im definitely getting one, but Im holding out for a while in hopes of finding a burst with nicely-matching pieces. If I dont, I might just go with the white one.
I got someone to check one of these out for me and it did neck-dive better than them high-platform olympic divers... It was 9lbs 10oz.

Did the 9.2 lb. White P5 at Sweetwater. Free shipping and no tax, gets here next Wed. Yeah, MF would have been a little less but they won't check weight, the last bass (modern player telecaster) was 10 1/2 lbs. Yeah I could have kept returning until weight was right, maybe.

Went back and tried the first CAR VMP5 at my local dealer. This was the heavier one.
Strong dead spot on the G string, this one was right at C. It was the type where the fundamental dies faster than the upper harmonics, so that the note seems to jump an octave as it decays.
If you're a slapper, this really doesn't matter, but it's a pain if you want to play whole note passages on the top string around the fifth fret.
So, I'm 0 and 2 so far. I'm going to wait and see if the 3TS I've got on order is any better.

OK got my new stings today: D'Addario Nickel Balanced tension nickel rounds (33 lbs.). I swapped the strings and reset the bass to Fender factory setup specs without any difficulty.
These strings have turned this bass from good to ridiculously good. This bass just became my main player, period. I can't believe that I'm going to be using my Spector as a backup, but that's the way it's going to go. The Squier simply plays like butter, and gives me the tone I want.
With the switch to the balanced tension strings first position has now become much easier to play, and the balance in tone/volume between strings is simply great. As an added benefit there is now less tension on the neck which should make it stand up better to the test of time.
I kind of felt like I was rolling the dice buying a Squire, but this has certainly worked out fabulously for me. I feel very blessed and am happy as a lark.

This bass is totally worth the years of waiting for a REAL 5-string P from Squier. The maple neck is a sweet feature I was hoping for. It is a solid axe, very playable. I like to keep my tone all the way down, slightly high action, and really dig in when I play repeated notes. The tone is classic Precision Bass - I'm very happy with this instrument!
Wow! I want a red and maple one just like yours. Since it looks like I will be keeping my Lakland Skyline 55-64, I guess the Squier can be its little brother.
My Oly white is in Colorado (only 1 state away).

Once again I have been bitten by GAS and a thread @TB. I certainly don't NEED another bass right now, but I have been really wanting a P5 of some sort. Thought I'd jump on TB and see what my brethren are saying about the most affordable option. Turns out I bought thee 9lb er from Sweetwater and will update on arrival.
I've spent several hours with my SVM P5 and a/b'd it with my FP5 (American Fender) at home with my small practice rig. I've actually got to practice but thought I'd share a few thoughts/experiences.
First, VERY nice bass and one I could/will gig with. I bought it to back up the FP5, but really it could be a main rotation bass.
I have very few nits, and frankly, couldn't we nit just about any bass? But first the positives, nice weight at 9.2 lbs. Fit and finish are not boutique, but certainly nearly equal to American made products and equal to or maybe better than MIMs. The neck pocket is very tight, the frets are good, and even the set-up was good (probably middle of the range, I will set it a little lower to mirror my FP5). The neck is flat out awesome and gives up nothing to the FP5. The paint is good, although I can see some sanding marks on the back wood under the paint, the paint itself is smooth and the poly (if any) seems very thin on the body and neck.
The electronics are decent, no noise, no scratchy pots, and decent tone. Compared to my FP5 there is slightly more growl which can be minimized but not completely tamed by the tone knob. The FP5 can definitely get smoother and darker, but in all fairness it has an orange drop and well broken in RW strings installed. The tort guard is attractive and works with the Olympic White finish.
The only "issues" I have found to date are that 3 of the screws in the PG are not screwed in perfectly straight, not horrible, but not perfect. And one of the screws on the I.D. plate has some burrs that snagged a poly Tee shirt I was wearing, nothing a jewelers file can't fix. That's about it, really, I would be hard pressed to justify the $1,200 difference between the Squier and the Fender, I'm glad I have both, but really, the Squier is all most of us (even gigging players) would ever need! I will report back after I a/b them on my main rig.
A few other findings, mainly because less than a week after I bought the Squier, somebody here had American electronics and white PG for sale and I got them figuring if there was any weakness it would be in that area, and I wanted a white/white/maple bass to contrast my black/black/maple P5. The Oly white is slightly off white, the white American PG is whiter, not news to many but it was to me. Also, the PG is not plug and play, and while all the screw holes line up, it would have to be trimmed 1/8th inch or less at the base of the neck profile to fit (not all the screw holes line up as is). I'm not sure if any trimming would be needed at the PUP holes. After removing the plastic off the Tort PG, the bass looks so good I may not mount the white PG. Since I have the American pickups/pots/jacks, after I get another orange drop, I'll go ahead and install them, but seriously, an orange drop may be the only thing I'd change/add to the original electronics unless something failed.
Buy one (assuming they are all equal to mine) and be happy happy happy
I forgot to mention, the body wood actually vibrates more than my FP5, especially on the A, D, and G strings, IMO this is the most important aspect of a good sounding bass.
