Stage attire

I bought a pair of Docs (11 hole...) in the mid-1980s. If it hadn't been for the fire in 2017 I would still have that pair. Granted I don't wear them every day, but at the beginning they were worn a lot. Amazing what some dubbing and polish can do for good leather.

I wear mine every day, except at the height of summer, so I usually wear out the soles long before the uppers. A pair usually lasts me about two years, and then I send Dr. Martens a picture of the old boots with the tongues cut out, and they send me a new pair.

Dr. Scholl's Work Shoes. They can pass with dress pants or jeans, and they're comfy.

Me too, with a bowling style shirt. Cargo pants usually.

In my band, we usually dress up. I have a few sets of casual black shoes with leather uppers. Having spent many years in the Army and Marine Corps, I know my way around shoe polish and a boot brush, so make sure they're black and somewhat shiny. So even though there's a big "N" on the sides of my New Balance shoes, they don't look terribly out of place with a jacket, tie, & vest.

I wear these boots, but they are actually a bit darker. and chinos.

I got so used to them that I went to record a few songs wearing sneakers and I had problems keeping the tempo because it changed my body language.

Someone mentioned Blundstones. Get those. Great for problem feet, as you can put orthopaedic inserts in them. Looks like a Chelsea boot. Wear with jeans or dressed up. They last forever and take abuse. They’ve worked for my flat feet for about 20 years. I wear mine all the time, including throughout the harsh, salty, Canadian winters.

Do comfort and stability. You're on your feet for hours. There are cables, stands, amps and other heavy stuff at your feet. You are hopefully moving. If you are uncomfortable and unsteady, you will not be concentrating on the show.

But also remember you are part of the entertainment. Your attire sets expectations. They should match the event. I wore Converse high tops here. They're a bit more showy than everyday sneakers, but very comfortable.

Anything black, usually a pair of Sketchers, though I have a pair of Nurock boots, but I don't wear them anymore. It's too much if that makes sense. My wife was hot when I bought them. "I don't even have a $175 pair of shoes!" They were trendy in the metal scene at the time though.

Black jeans or pants with a black Harley shirt or band shirt. Paint my nails black. Did I mention black? With chrome accessories, piercings, barbed wire bracelet. The usual. LOL

Cowboy boots, black chelsea boots, black velvet Prince Albert slipper loafers. Sometimes Chuck Taylors. Maybe flip-flops if it's really hot, outside and casual.

If it's T-shirts and jeans, you probably don't have to worry about it too much my friend. Just what ever you would wear with jeans will do fine I'm sure.

Dress sneakers are what you are looking for. Black leather upper with white sole always looks good. Boots would also work with the right jeans and t-shirt. You can't go wrong with a well-fitted black t. Choose wisely.

Stay away from anything that looks geriatric. Seeing a lot of shoes posted that are one step away from velcro.

Some of these look like what they give you when you get out of prison or corrective shoes.

Oh man, I was trying so hard not to say something like that but yes. Orthopedics came to mind. I'm laughing out of my chair.

I just got a couple of pairs of cargo pants (wrangler) and they are much lighter than Jeans, which is great with the hot weather we have in Florida.
