Star Trek: Picard

Worf was and still might be the Federation Ambassador to Qo'nos. Maybe he rejoins Starfleet at some point. I get the feeling they were just there visiting. Either that or they showed up to a shoot that they weren't involved in.

The tie-in comic confirms Worf is now the captain of the Enterprise. It also fills in a lot of blanks about Raffi, Laris and Zhaban. It's worth reading.

What comics? They're considered canon?
It's called Star Trek - Picard: Countdown.

Apparently it is considered canon. Although the Star Trek: Countdown comic, that came out with the JJA Star Trek movie is also considered canon and it contradicts much of what's in Picard (in that one, Data was still alive and was captain of the Enterprise).

I don't like that. Not one bit. There are a million ST novels that aren't considered canon. It should be shows and movies and nothing else.

"I think about killing myself every day. It gives me comfort."

Not something I'd think I'd ever hear in Star Trek. I'm fine with dark stuff but it was rather abrupt.

There was no good reason for the cube to have a holographic interface.

I was liking Rios's holograms until they were all in the same room together with that goofy pizzacatto music that tells you the scene is comedic.

The Zhat Vash zsene was a campfest, until the Event-Horizon style outcome.
(Um, not that I've actually seen EH...)
I need to rewatch the whole thing to make sense of how Raffi was able to piece it all together (the ancient story, not just Rios's).

Each episode brings me closer to dropping out entirely. I don’t like any of the new characters. The story is nearly incomprehensible without doing some supplemental reading. I can’t stay focused on it because it’s unfocused to begin with.

I guess I’m not the intended audience.

They're flying through character arcs. Rios got into and out of a drunken pity party seemingly in a few hours. Raffi apparently got over her alcoholism without any issues. I haven't seen her smoke her space meth in a while either. Hey remember how her son hates her and she has a grandchild? Maybe they'll show them all hugging and making up at some point. Blonde lady was finding comfort in suicidal ideation every night but after a group chat she's okay again. Soji went from lost and suspicious to trusting and sure of herself in about ten minutes. Picard is just kinda along for the ride. I'll admit it was kinda cool when Seven became a temporary queen, but then it was over. No big deal. She didn't even have holes in the back of her jacket from being plugged in. I don't know how the hell Raffi figured out the whole shabang but once that all got revealed.... it's just so sloppy and lazy.

My CBS was due to bill in a few days and even though the finale is next week, I went to cancel it because reading a synopsis would be fine and I'd keep my six bucks. I started to cancel and they offered to extend me for a month, so I'll cancel it next week. So if you're due to renew soon, there's a little tip for ya.

I canceled yesterday. They made no offer to keep me. Maybe it's because I subscribed through iTunes TV.

With my very low expectations, I have thoroughly enjoyed the series.....suspending all need of continuity.
Despite obvious holes....I was thrilled to have 7 of 9 rejoin the show....and Picard showed aspects of his old character that warmed me.
I guess it all is just a big nostalgia fest with some cool action thrown in....Good fun
