Wow, my Stingray absolutely CRUSHED it tonight. I took my L-2500 as well and intended to play each for two sets. Didn't work out that way. After the first set, I knew I was playing this one all night. That made the rest of the band happy, too. They loved how it sounded - and this was after raving about how good they thought my L-2500 sounded in our last rehearsal. Gotta be the bass, 'cause it sure isn't my talent level. 
It looked pretty nice up there, too, if you can ignore the stupid expression on my face. My guess is that I was watching our keys player solo (he played some awesome solos tonight). Either that or I really do look that stupid. Most likely both.

New Year’s gig. The 8lb ergonomics of the Special made it very enjoyable not to mention the sonic pleasure it provided.
Here’s my new Stingray Special 5 HH in smoked charcoal. Love it!
Swapped out the pearl guard for a mint one. I prefer the mint. Which do you prefer? I'd like to see how a tort would look.
If I hadn’t seen the pictures, I would have said pearl. But having seen them, and liking the pearl a lot, I’m thinking mint.

To my surprise I prefer the mint . Looks nice. Is that maroon mist?
This is my Stingray 5 (1998), I installed thumbrest Zeromod on it, and sometimes change pickquards: black to gray perliloid. Bass body has been repainted (original color - transred)
That bass look sweet natural! The refinish was done great!
