Stingray 5 Club!

Just weighed my 2007 SR5HH. I always thought it weighed 9.5 lbs. but it came up 9.8 lbs. It's a little heavy for me nowadays but it's not a bad being a non-Special SR5. Plus it balances very well.
I love my 2007 SR5HH. It weighs about what yours does and is close to 1.5 pounds heavier than my Stingray Special 5HH, but it has its own character that makes it worth having both to me.

I've said quite a few times that they're effectively my co- number one basses, but I've also acknowledged that I give the 2007 a slight edge. That extra snarl it gets from having the Sterling preamp and the Sterling 5's ceramic pickups sounds great on my band's playlist.

And, as you said, it also balances well so the extra weight isn't a problem. But that may also be because I'm also used to playing my L-2500 for four sets and that's even heavier than my 2007, which feels lighter in comparison. I don't play the L because of the weight, but in spite of it.

Well, DIDN'T play.... Having just bought a Big Al 5, I'm now planning to sell the L-2500. :D

Good choices for co-number ones! Yeah I love the ceramic pickups. I haven't found a Special that spoke to me yet and I GAS for one every time I see a great post about one!

I'm also selling my 10+lb. L-2500 but keeping the one that weighs 8.6 lbs.! The Big Al looks like a fun bass!

An 8.6 pound L-2500 might have made me think differently. Might. But I'm finding out I'm a big Musicman fan and the Big Al will defintely be a bass that gets regular play, even if it doesn't end up becoming a tri- number one with my Stingrays. It's just too cool of a bass. :D

Once again I couldn't resist after seeing this 2004 Stingray Honey Burst. Might get here before Christmas? Tracking is giving delivery date Dec 26th. So here we go again, moving one out and another coming. Pictures are previous owner.

Sorry just now noticed Stingray 5 Club.

Any sources for pick guards for an SR5 (2006, slanted toggle)? Emailed EB but no response yet and I don’t see it on their web shop. WD music has a ton on reverb but it says it’s for the neck through version, not sure if that’s the same as what I need.

Quick Guards
Pickguard Planet (WD Music) order direct from them, not Reverb.
