I find it funny, sort of, because we have some great food up here, lots of very cool peeps, some pretty cool culture, a slightly faster paced lifestyle (except in small towns) and I fell no "Northern Pride".

I'm not saying OH doesn't have a lot to be proud of, I just don't get the "northern pride" version from us northern folk.
Wait til you break the $100 barrier. The truly AWESOME pedals are the $100-$200 boutique offerings, IMO. And with the TB classifieds, you can drop the cash worry-free if you're smart and only buy what you know you can resell.
I look at it this way, if I get the exact fuzz / od / etc. sound I want, then I think its worth $150. Back in the day, before the internet made trading so easy, I'd probably never spend over $100 on a pedal, due to the hassle and loss you take trading it back out. But these days, if you just cruise the used market, you really never lose $$ unless you find a keeper.
I think southern pride is more generalized than being proud of being from your hometown, home state, whatever. Taking broad generalizations from a large portion of the country that is in some ways a lot the same, for better or worse.
I do. I was born in Lakewood, and lived all over Ohio until I joined the Navy back in '83. But I am proud as hell to be from Cleveland. But it wasn't until I moved away that I had any awareness of that pride, I guess.
BTW- great thread. very insightful stuff, stoner dudes. I'm also VERY proud of the music I love, and the attitude of those that share it. Although to look at me in my work clothes and shaved head you'd think I was a Toby Keith fan or something....
my BF-2 is absolutely destroying my signal. I think I lose approximately half volume, even when it is on bypass/engaged. This wouldn't be an issue because I have it in a bypass loop.. except when I actually want to use it, my volume drops and I disappear completely in a band setting. Is there any way to fix the signal loss? Due to this, it's entirely off my board.
I guess I was getting kind of bored of flanging as my modulation anyway.. phasing is more stoner, right? ha. Perhaps it's time to look at more fun stuff like octavers and envelope filters too..

yep I'm with them on this ^ If you just dish out the cash for a good pedal, head, cab etc. You'll be saving money in the long run. Or you could just go through the budget cycle and try almost every mediocre thing out there. Not saying you won't find something you like or your sound. Everyone is different. I would just buy a Bluebeard
You can try to move it around in the signal chain... sometimes its all about what's in front of an behind it... Noise can come from buffered bypass -> buffered bypass... etc.... you can also look into an isolated power supply be it a wall wart or something like a PP2+ that has isolated grounds....
In terms of buying, selling, and trying pedals I'm about to let my Swell Tube OD go: Real tube overdrive... Authentic overdrive at low(er) levels, and it has a second stage.... If anyone's interested pm and I'll just give you my bottom line price so we can avoid the haggling game.
I've given it a good test, ie - in the chain with other effects, bass -> flange -> amp, before and after a couple of pedals - same effect each time, including with 9V power supply and battery - it seems to be inherent with the unit. I even screwed with the previously unknown trimpots.
I don't mean I seek out junk cause I am cheap. I just don't have much money so I stalk craigslist and find great deals I've never spent much on anything. Also I wasn't planning on buying both, or either for sure but whatever I wasn't silly.

I get gas but I am realistic and cautious, I don't play in a band currently and don't work so I am rather proud of the gear I have amassed for close to nothing.
I also don't think cost = better just because. My muff is cheap but I like it, a musket might be better but unless I found one at a low price I don't really care to invest money into it even if I could make the money back.
But to each his own.
Not saying you have to go out and drop $300 on a pedal but if you saved up about $120-150 you could get a pretty awesome pedal used. I meant no offense in what I wrote.

But yea no new pedals for me I don't think, just keep turning cheap gear into money til I can afford a new amp.
Look for an old Acoustic. You can usually pick them up cheap and they kick ass. I picked up my 450 for $100 and Laz grabbed one for Toastfuzz recently for around the same.
