That's hilarious mine are my unused personal days from last year, use it or lose it. Time to dig out my sweat pants and clear out my dvr. And then kill many braincells.

Tell me about it, part of this time off is still from my 2010 vacation days.

YouTube - BORIS "Statement" ?
The first song I learned was Sweet Leaf....... I taught myself how to play LAst Days here this week, trying to master it... it sounds a little off.
I want to get a MIA Jazz bass, but I hardly ever see them used in Doom, the only dude I know who uses one in a doomy band is Jarred Warren, from Melvins, Karp, Big Business.
My question is why are jazz basses not used for doom?
EDIT: No doom scene in Canada? What about Bison BC, Woods of Ypres, and Sons of Otis?
I can't say that I see a lot of Jazz Basses in the scene either. I own one and it is the best studio bass I have, but for live situations my P and Ric are my choice. Jazz basses have this inherent scooped kind of modern sound that makes it sound weak, at least with my hands and rig. The P and Ric have a lot more mids and are better at filling a room and punching through loud guitars and drums.
The scooped tone seems to work in the studio though and the right producer can really get an aggressive sound out of it.
Thought I'd check in here with my question since you guys are the volume experts.
How feasible would it be (if it's even possible) to use a Fender Bassman 350 as a head to power a cabinet? It only has an XLR output, not a 1/4"... I'm trying to put this together for a small doom project I've been working on, but I'm a bit lost on how I should set this up...
The new TV 350 combos have a 350 watt amp at 4 ohms. The speaker is 4 ohms. This combo is not intended to have an extension speaker. You could run the line out to a PA or something like that.
You shouldn't have to save too much. My rig (from pg 7) was $660 (not including bass).
Starting at a balance $0.00, I'll have to save quite a bit. There's a distinct possibility I may just get an acoustic head with a 115 and a 410... not sure how it would handle live settings though. I've heard acoustic heads are remarkably underpowered.
In terms of heads, I'd sell my left kidney for a Sunn Model T... I just think a 410 and a 115 would give me some good low and and some tight low mids.
