The soldering was so bad there may have been wires touching or something in yours. He couldn't believe how bad the soldering was. It was pretty much dead when I brought it to him. If you cranked any of the knobs the volume would drop to almost nothing. Now there's tons of volume on tap.

As for power amps, definitely could have saved money and weight but screw it. I already have huge cabs might as well have a huge amp. After playing the 400+ for a couple weeks I had to have tubes again. The Emperors came alive with that head. Hoping the magma works out or I'll take a beating reselling it.

I'd keep it. My Geddy Jazz has one and I think it's a great bridge that looks really cool as well. There's lots of debate whether they actually add sustain\give better tone though. My Geddy sustains for days(even with flats) but I don't know if that's the Badass or some other factor.

it sounded good to me on clean and with the BB, but whatever the bass is pushing out is murdering his 408 vintage speakers lol. i tried to play it but im not left handed so i did the best i could. neck feels sweet, bass is heavy as sin, and definitely looks cool.

My guitarist says he wants to play my ultimate octave before I sell it. Good thing it's too good to go to waste. Just not my thing. I think my dirt quest is almost over, only a few things I really want to try. I'd like to pick up a modded or cloned dod250 with true bypass and other than that I think I'm good for now. Also want to get a neo clone for some swirly goodness.

I still have a bunch of payments left on my pa then going to probably finance a hartke lh1000 and pick up a 2x15 or something on craigslist. I should have everything done by the end of the year, then I'll try to find something a little more serious. Good times.

Well back down to three basses, the extras sold today. :hyper:
May have to live vicariously through pedals for a while lol. Thinking about buying this DIY pedal kit, The Bluebeard one for $71 bucks. The BMP with the GGG tuned upgrade, supposed to be the BB. Give me something to fiddle with.

Many heated discussions out there on the topic of whether the ggg is a clone or whatever... all comes down to a few minor component differences and the theme of "Thou shalt not compare the bluebeard to ggg designs!!". Anyway sounds like fun if you're down for it, I keep wanting to build something but then I get lazy. That's why I bought my bluebeard, and I don't regret it for a second.

leaky output cap could do that 2 or he just forgot to AC couple the output haha.

Yeah I may luck out and find a Bluebeard on the classifieds too, or buy one new. I don't care about silly clone discussions, most things are just upgraded copies of something else. If the guy is making pedals for him then the guy is making pedals for him, if not then fool on me, no biggy. Look at the Timmy clone by Danelectro, the OCD by Joyo, the Behringer clones. I am more looking to mess with guitar stuff more on my own and not going to the shop as much. So just something fun to do.

I keep wanting to try to dwarfcraft kits. He's got a great destroyer and robot devil up there that sound pretty cool on bass. I'm too nervous to try though. They need more bass friendly kits out there.

My girlfriend's father is in electronics and rebuilds, customizes, and soups up CB radio's so he will look over my shoulder when I need so I am thinking of giving it a shot. I am thinking 71 bucks and I schooled never try that again then lesson learned. If I pull it off I will be thrilled. If it has the BB sound I will be thrilled even more.

Also, just wanted to provide my input on the GGG/BB debate.

Back when I owned my first BB, my guitarist/friend/fellow gear nerd picked up a GGG muff.

We played them back to back with the same bass/amp/everything and we were able to recreate all the same tones with both pedals. So they might be slightly different in design, but they sound shockingly close to both of our ears.
