One of my favorites was the dude mentioned a Weekend Nachos song as the heaviest thing he'd ever heard. I was in that band, and played on that song, but he was still really wrong, as there are much heavier and better things out there. Poor opinions haha

Haha yeah, I was in the band for the demo tape, Torture 7" and split 7" with chronic bleeding syndrome. anything past that I wasn't a part of.

just catching up, this thing sounds really cool. I just can't seem to get my Disaster Jr. delay to cut through the mix. Don't know if it is the pedal or maybe the cab but basically the repeats are inaudible when the guitar and/or drums are going. No bass solos so that doesn't leave much use for it right now.

I'd love to hear how you guys use delays on bass in a band mix.

Thanks! I've found getting clear repeats in a full band mix at practice volumes can be hard to accomplish (i mainly go for a surreal floaty feeling sound with bass delay). Last night was the first full practice (well technically a writing session) with the new board setup. I got to write an entire song with the bass delay on and I loved it, with the mix just right the repeats would be audible but not wash out what your actually playing, and its got this really nice subtle washyness to it, very dreamlike if you will. So far its exactly what I was looking for, it definitely won't be everybodies cup of tea but it will be a godsend for some.

I'm the exact same way! Wanted a ric for years then bought the first one (walnut) by saving every dime of cover band money for a year and a half. That band broke up shortly after i bought i so set it up for drop c. When i started another cover band i wanted another one for standard (white) and one popped up in town so I bought it. I've been fighting the white one tonally in a band situation for a minute. Really wish I had my Genz back right now to do more knob turning and string swapping.

So, what's the story with Genz Benz? Are they fixing it under warranty? They are supposed to be pretty good with turnaround time. What happened?

Actually I use the space echo for most of the last half of Zero Talent.

The high pitched oscilations and sounds during the drum and guitar break/build up were all me playing hammer on notes while adjusting the delay time on the space echo. That thing is a lot of fun in the studio, everything just sounds better when you run it through a tape echo hahah.

I wanted to ask do you run your delay pre or post dirt? I tried it both ways and running it pre dirt added some cool washyness but it also muddied up some notes and kinda ruined it for me. I've been digging after with this delay as it tends to not overtake the base note your playing it just floats in the background.

Agreed Tap Tempo to match up the beat makes everything so much more cohesive. Guitar with off tempo delay can be really cool and not muddy anything up, but off tempo bass delay can make instant mud for a whole band.

Yeah but what would you go with, 2X12s, 2X15s, or 8X10s?

Bass and delay is a hard effect to tame.

+1 for heavy parts. Slow churning bass lines on delay with fuzz is just glorious. You feel this sudden bass wave tickle your scrotum and it's instant mass destruction of everything. I use delay on our breakdown for Dry Sea. Love it!

Guitar player hasn't practiced new song more than 4 times, show tomorrow, now no practice.
