Stoner/Doom Bassists 53: Loud Noises

The Duchess o rock has to take a bible class to finish up a degree because of the college she's going to...as an assignment they have to watch that History Channel series The Bible...made me sit through part of an episode...try surviving that...Cheese knob set to stun

Everyone made a big deal about that series when it was coming out. I tried watching like 10 minutes of it and couldn't take it haha.

Those history channel shows like that always look super cheese. Like a really badly done commercial stretched out to an annoying lengths. Like some bad law firms commercial.

Good choice! Dead Meadow has been getting me through Friday morning.

And good choice to you as well. I had a case of insomnia inducing allergies very early morning and youtube vids of Hypnos 69 kept me company till I finally drifted off, so need to buy all their stuff up, found a lot of songs I never heard before by them, really trippy, listened to jamband stuff for years and always wished the bands in that genre had a harder edge to them and Hypnos 69 is exactly what I wishing for all those years

Morning: I'll admit, I'm curious to hear the new Sabbath, though I'm somewhat expecting to be disappointed mostly by the vocals... either in Cheese Factor, or due to Execution. Unfortunately, I have even less hope for a live experience, but may find myself going anyway.

Jammed with a buddy / ex bandmate of mine Tuesday, he called me last night and offered for me to come join he and the drummer he's been playing with. Said they had roughly 5 songs together, and he tends to be a riff machine. May be promising, I'm waiting to hear some clips.

Made some substantial progress on the 810 yesterday... Finally got to rub some stain into it and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I'm thinking I'll probably just do 1 coat to keep the grain visible. I did find and use a minwax pre-treatment to help get a more uniform color. Not too sure how it would have come out without it, but I like the results. I think the walnut hid some of the blemishes perfectly just as I had hoped.

Gotta get this done, so I can sell my 410 and buy Ron's Ric!
