Stoner/Doom Bassists 53: Loud Noises

My guitarist got a Jam Man deluxe and tied it with VEGA. Didnt mesh well because it basically makes us play to a click track. Which has its time and place but not with us, our tempo changes and music breathes too much.


If you want a super simple looper, try out a TC Ditto, if you can find one that is.

Better asking this in a fearful thread. Think there's only like 3 guys in here that have fearfuls, and I doubt many if any have played the avatar cab.

Yeah that's why I said yikes, you have to be right on it, nothing loose about the feel at all. I imagine a drum machine must be tough to work with too. Also the old Digitech digidelay I had had a 4 second looper, and the Hardwire delay has a longer one. And I think some of the Boss delays too.

All loopers are going to require you to play in time with the loop.

It's hard at first...mostly for the one doing the looping. They gotta make sure they start/stop the loop right or it fvcks everything up.

BTW, played a show last night.

Just us and one other local band...maybe 6 people at the whole bar.

Holy **** it was fun. No rush to do anything, got setup and then rocked like we were playing in front of 50k. Way too much fun.

The dually was a beast. Normally, I'd be afraid my Ampeg was about to bust out of its seems. The dually let me keep cranking the volume. Loved it!

Yeah I know they are all metronomes, and yeah I would hate to have that extra pressure of not screwing that up, I was just trying to list some other simple basic ones like the TC Ditto

What amp are you running with the Dually? Pretty ****ing crushing rig eh?

IMHO I would go with the fEARful. You can order the Avatar with the 8 Ohm 3015LF but that is a price hike, the 4 Ohm version is a joke.

With the 15/6 you get a better woofer, much better mid range driver, a 240v spec'ed cross over, lighter weight wood but stronger cab, and a correct porting scheme.
