I got it for $170 with a gig bag that smelled like it was used to filter Lucky Strikes cigarettes. You can find them even cheaper sometimes but this was cherry, perfect, perfect shape. I was going to try and find a Peavey Predator which is their USA model strat copy as I have the tele copy the Reactor(which rules big time), but this felt and sounded awesome too. Those predators can be had for 100 bucks sometimes. Supposedly the Squier IIs have laminate bodies but this thing resonates as good as my high end stuff.

Oh other good strat deals are the old MIJ Fernandes strats and Hondo IIs. I fn love Made in Japan guitars and basses. If you have a good brand witha good neck and body, maybe upgrade but sometimes you can get killer deals for the price of the pickup upgrade. I saved up and bought a brand new 1991 Fender American Strat and kept it for years out of sentimental value, actually traded it for my first bass, so not a bad idea, and the pups are as good or as better and the neck and body are just as nice on this Squier, blows my mind how good it is.

Wow, just got back from seeing Anthrax! They were freaking unbelievable.

Holy Grail played first. I really like them but their sound was fairly muddy this time.
Shadows Fall played next. I don't really care for them but live they were alright but they did replace HOF on the East Coast which sucks.
Municipal Waste was next. Pretty darn good.
Then the show took a turn for the worse with Exodus. I know they are thrash legend and all that but I thought they were really boring. It is like the drummer knows only one really generic fast thrash beat and the guitars were really grating. Add to that the lead singer berating the audience for not slamming enough and it got really old really quick. Two things about that. 1) It was a million degrees in the venue so I don't think most people really wanted to mosh. 2) If you have to tell people to mosh YOU are doing something wrong. If YOU aren't inspiring people to mosh don't berate them.

Sorry that really gets on my nerves.

Again Anthrax was awesome. I was trying to take pictures for my blog post and I couldn't stop head banging. So freaking catchy!

One of the best shows I have ever seen was Anthrax, MEGADETH, and Slayer. I went to see the machine that is MEGADETH. Anthrax totally stole the show. They came out and were so high energy.

does anyone know if there is a super high quality version of the amoeba Om performance? you know which one i'm talking about

i just downloaded the HQ mp3s of that proshot Shrinebuilder set and i want more Al tone in my life tonight as i celebrate the impending weekend
