I've given up on octave down. Between flats and my low string tuned to C, it just ain't gonna happen.
octave down on bass? probs useless, there isnt many amps that can reproduce or handle those low notes.
Speaking of, there's a Micro Pog in the classifieds for $150. Is that a decent price? I might grab it.
My buddy has a Micro Pog that I don't think he's using ATM. Lemme see if I can get you a better deal.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it's a Micro Pog...I think it might be a Pog2.

Cool just let me know. I'm not in a hurry, it is more of a curiosity thing. I'm not really interested in the Pog2, just the Micro.
There's a decent difference, I'm tuned to standard. Rotosound 88s seem to lose a lot of tension when they get downtuned, a lot more than most strings. When I used 77s, I had my bass is drop A an awful lot and was comfortable with it.
Yeah, not coming up very clear. One octave down and playing on my A, D, and G strings, it's not too bad, but any lower and it's near inaudible anyway.
im still contemplating the next move on the octave idea. Theres a few circuits floating around out there. Id prefer it to be analog for ease of constructon. I dont give a **** about sounding like a church organ, I just wanna step on the expression pedal and bring in the super low tuned sludge, nothing more nothing less

They do sound tasty though. In my current life I would probably end up with some Thunderbucker Ranch Max's instead. I'll probably snag a pair for my Epi Classic when it "FINALLY" gets in to Sweetwater. That's been a mega wait for those to come in.
A user named Poor Gear Whore was apparently friends with Wade. He got a BLKARM, but I thought someone else on the east coast did too... oh well, I think of all the stuff people ordered, he only delivered on 10% of it. And that's probably a generous guess.
I'd second (third? Fourth?) the MicroPog recommendation. Great little pedal. Not that his word isn't good enough (because of course it is), but I'd second Dunwich's point regarding clean octave-up pedals - they're just hard to find.
I've used the MultiDrive quite a bit, and I think it might just be what you're looking for. I think it nails the subtle overdrive thing, but it can also get more aggressive if you crank it. It also seems to interact with the amp a lot, not like a BDDI who just stomps its tone all over every amp (IMO)
I kinda had problems with getting a little lost in the mix, but that was before I had my second box and well, 200W @ a 2x12 isn't that much. Now it's a different matter.

Thanks for the input on that. The Multidrive is in the lead, although some people say it sounds a little compressed, I'm not sure that's a bad thing. It would be for my proposed pedalboard straight to power amp rig. Since I can crank the RAT, no need for something that's high gain, so if it can get that just breaking up tube amp tone, perfect. The Catalinbread SFT is still in the running, but every demo I find of it online seems to focus on cranking it up, which doesn't at all seem like the purpose or strong suit of that pedal.
