Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread 29: "Please Huff Responsibly"

And I'm kind of serious. I'm thinking of picking up a Micro POG. Is this just octave up? Can you give some details? If you gave em already I forget em! I really liked the tone in the very beginning.

its got octave 1 up, octave 1 down, octave 2 down and clean blend. Special control I added was a spring loaded footswitch to instantly bring in octave 1 down

octave up is a smidge fuzzy but can be tweaked a bit.

i hate everyone in here lol.

skip, they were built by wade at monolith. however, he flaked and sent them to me unfinished, i had phil mountjoy tolex and clean them up, as well as create the grill cloths. scott mounted the speakers and wired that one up last night, just took awhile to figure out the mounting process based on the hole sizes.

Ahhhhhhh I gotcha, it really sucks that Wade shat on everybody and dipped out, as I love my Tectonic Shift pedal, but that subject is a dead horse. Did you ever find someone to make you a 21" or 24" speaker cabinet?

it doesn't track the low open C on my top string at all. Kind of disappointed in it to be honest. I wanted something to do super low note sludge tones with

The worst part about Wade is he cooked up some serious **** stew and we all ate it with the biggest spoon we could find until we finally realized what a prick he was.

lol i talked to emperor about a 2x21 but i decided against it. if i ever end up doing another crazy cab ill take back joshs peavey 3620 and replace the 2x18s with some really good speakers, and remove the 10s.

Don't forget the popcorn! I haven't heard the story either.:ninja:

Mmmmm popcorn... I will def need some mucheez so that a good idea!

Yeah I've read the story on numerous different forums... He had a good thing going, tis a shame.

Gotcha. I was looking into making an infra-sonic sub cab for a while using 2x21's. Feasability of usage though made me decide against it. As I would have to make something that can produce 6-12hz frequencies and then buy like a 3000watt SS power amp to get the whole idea to work.

I had a chance to play Mike's own T-Bass. I've "jonesed" for one ever since and these P/T Basses are just sick. Great price too considering the prices of those basses (T= $3500 and up. P's about a 1k less) and pickups($300 a set).

Speaking of boners.... I've never seen a P/J boner bass. Pretty cool. I rehab'd a jazz for resale a while back. Nice player but the body felt really chunky to me.

Holy crap, this is awesome [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

those pickups are 300 a piece, not per set. a set of them runs 600+ with the mounting kit and all. pretty nuts for two pickups.
