Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread 29: "Please Huff Responsibly"

I haven't personally used the Multidrive but I toured with a guy who did and it sounded fantastic. I'm a huge EBS fan (have two pedals - Phaser and Wah - and a Fafner amp) in general.

Glad to hear some positive feedback from someone listening in a band context. Pedal demos videos/clips are cool, but not always that pertinent to how a pedal works in a mix.

corey...checkInvalid Link Removed

its a OD demo i did that has the SFT at OD levels not FUZZZ levels against other ODs.

Oh yeah, I know I've seen this video before. Probably when I was looking at the Sub-Lime stuff you posted. That's useful, thanks.

MY CL was driving me crazy at practice last night. After 2 or 3 songs I changed over to the MB800. Our lead guitarist was questioning me about it, because I said I was trying to sell the amp. I told him I can't ever seem to dial it in and it reacts completely differently with every bass I own. Tried every different approach I could think of...pregain up, master down, master up, using the pregain as a volume, every different mid freq, different EQ settings, buttons in and out, plugging into the low gain input and cranking everything up. Something about the voicing of that amp just doesn't line up well with my taste, I can't ever seem to get it dialed in. It's true the MB800 lacks a certain girth the CL has, but I can get a voicing I like out of it in about 10 seconds. Same with the Traynor, it's hard to dial in a tone I don't like on that amp. I don't know if I'd like a non master volume SVT better.

Do they sound like CLs? One of the best live tones I've ever experienced was Truckfighters with a fender jazz into a CL with the gain completely dimed. Figure with an efficient cab the V4 could possibly get to the same playing volume I use with the 7 Pro.

Just tossing around ideas.

Yes, Davis had one of the "newer" V4s and it wasn't the same.

I'll say this about vintage V4s, I saw GY!BE last night, they played for an hour and a half, that was the longest I've ever seen a V4 continually work.

hey just became a supporting member, is there a like etiquette/how to for classifieds or a limit, because everything I dislike I sell and I don't want to get in trouble.

Just don't put personal "beefs" in their. Just the asking price, condition, payment method, and you can chose to lump certain items or a individual lister per each piece. Just make you you list it in the correct for sale section.

If something is for sale you must list a price. You can bump your thread every 24 hours. You are not allowed to make negative comments or question the asking price of a seller. You cant demand the buyer sends you payment via PayPal as a gift (this removes PayPals buyer protection). Other than that, that's about it.

And of course for a greater chance at a sale, take good quality pictures and host them in full resolution on another sight, give a full description and full disclosure of the condition to avoid any arguments after the item is received, etc.
