Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread 29: "Please Huff Responsibly"

Lazarus.Bird said:
Damn, I completely forgot about GC and used pedals. Their prices are normally a lot better than their basses. I just found one in Florida listed at $119 and was going to check on the Jeremy discount, but its already sold.

I always check gc, there will be 3 or 4 more in the next week or two. They're a readily available pedal and GC has a lot of stores.

Most people start their unit somewhere Btwn 4 and 6. I start @ 5.5 and go up a .5 Btwn bags. Should be tastey and mildly hazy. Not thick and cloudy. Total number of bags depends on quality and quantity...

i missed the window dude, i just cant get into it. everytime i hear a faith no more song i think to myself "i need to listen to quote unquote right now" lol.

I was WAAAAY late on the faith no more thing too. I was at a party and king for a day was playing. I was like "This is awesome, who is this?" It was that album. I made him stop it and burn me a copy immediately. :) at least give some FNM youtube love for that album. The bass tone is SICK!

No offense, but I find this to be a kinda strange stance regarding music. There's so much stuff out there that there's bound to be things that slip through the cracks...for me, anyway.

To totally write a band off because you missed the window seems kinda silly. Especially when the stuff you're passing up kicks major amounts of ass.:bassist:

I'd use a fretless, if I could play one worth a ****.

Any body use a P/J set up? Any decent P/J pup sets out there? I have a SX P/J I bought last year for $40. And I'm wanting to use it. The P poles stick out and rip my finger up. Sure I could move my resting position, but I don't wanna.
I guess I could pull the pup out and stuff some plastic in it to level the poles out with the pickup cover.

I use a Fender P bass special deluxe. It`s a P/J with a pre amp. It`s my main down tuned bass. I really like it but it`s also the only P/J I`ve played thru.
Any Bear vs Shark fans?

It's okay, but I was hoping for some Mit Gas type tracks. Love that album.

I really liked their first album and I saw them open for tool which was super awesome. I was not aware of the rest of their albums tho.:ninja:
I really dig all of the FNM albums Patton is on. Angel Dust is my absolute favorite, though.

I was 10 or 11 when Epic came out. I remember making a home made poster for FNM when I was a kid. I`m not a hardcore fan but I enjoy them and I like Patton.

Farflung is an excellent band. A wound in eternity is an amazing album, but they have an extensive (and out of print) back catalog that for the most part is pretty damn good. Really hard to find physical copies of the stuff, but you can find downloads pretty easy if you know where to look.

Never got into Faith no More.

This one of the reasons I love Spotify. After a search, I have all their releases at my fingertips. And yeah, this **** is bangin'
