So in a stroke of hilarity, a week before i start my new job, I got fired for obscure reasons. I'm hanging out on vacation until then.

I think I'm the only one whose wife doesn't give them the raised eyebrow at new gear, so they do it for me.

I just take everything straight to the rehearsal space. I'm good w/ wifie as long as I buy amps, cabs, and pedals. Basses are like tattoos... too visual to sneak past her.

How many of you guys have used a fretless for doom? I'm jamming with some new guys soon doing a blend of melodic black metal and stoner doom. Recently, I've just gotten used to using my Wishbass for everything and it actually seems to sound pretty good, but I'm curious about everyone else's experiences with this one.

I use my fretless P bass every now and then and I really like it. I enjoy how a fretless sounds all fuzzed out. I think you can totally use it if you want.

I'd use a fretless, if I could play one worth a ****.

Any body use a P/J set up? Any decent P/J pup sets out there? I have a SX P/J I bought last year for $40. And I'm wanting to use it. The P poles stick out and rip my finger up. Sure I could move my resting position, but I don't wanna.
I guess I could pull the pup out and stuff some plastic in it to level the poles out with the pickup cover.
