Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread 29: "Please Huff Responsibly"

Just got psilocybe #71 with sweet green sparkle paint and the offset switch on the bay for 125. I will post some pics and clips when I get it. I think Sam said we was interested in these. There's one on the bay for like $20 w/ 2 days & one in the classifieds do 139... Maybe the dude want a baby thunda...

i just got one from the TB classifieds for $130 (it really never ends) Green with black knobs. going to see how it compares to the Fatman...

I need someone to buy the Baby Thundaa too.

Rics only a half inch shorter from standard,, 2 inches is a lot for that explorer.

I thought that they were 3/4"? Whatever, it doesn't matter. I guess 2" would be a much more significant difference.

I had this short-scale bass years ago that I had tuned down to D with light strings, but C would probably have been more difficult. The sound might not have been great for everyone's purposes, either.

Your right the ric is 33 1/4" and i would still like a 34" scale sg bass. I had a ltd viper years ago loaded with G&L buckers, wouldn't mind crossing paths with it again..... to rip the pups out ;) also wouldnt mind a EBO-L or SB-400

We finished out first song with no slow parts. It's quite the barn burner ;)

Sweet. How long is it?

I don't know how a band like HoF writes these nonstop, 8 minute songs (besides they rule). The one we have is just over 3 minutes. And it has four verses. (Treked)

Anyone else interested in these Joyo pedals or just me being a cheapskate? :p

I seriously want to get a cheapie delay. Behringer or Joyo? (I can't believe this is a real question) I will more than likely be grabbing either the Voodoo Octave http://www.pedaltrader.com/JOYO-Pedals-JF-12-p/jf-12.htm, Ultimate Drive (OCD clone) http://www.pedaltrader.com/JOYO-Pedals-JF-02-p/jf-02.htm, or both. A delay for sure. And maybe a flanger or what else you guys think? Building some noise effects and spacey double delay psych parts while my guitar player leads all over them. This should start getting awesome when we jam this 20 minute crazy jam that my guitar player has in mind. :bassist:

I have zero experience with either of those brands, but did you see the pedal rental through pedaltrader? Seems like a good way to try them out before you buy.

I have a VD400, it gets the job done. I liked the tone of the EHX memory toy better but it doesn't oscillate with the PP2. needs 9.6v

Man I was looking at those Joyo Fuzz octave up pedals, I think it would be great with my Windsor, and dirt cheap on amazon and everywhere else. Cheaper than a POG, while I see if I like Octave up, need to find a mod to isolate the up though.

Laz, I use a lot of short scales, I got my mustang down to c with flats, without a setup from E standard and it worked, but for more than a spontaneus jam, I'd want a setup and look into bigger strings.

I just the other day tuned my Bronco down to D standard, and it seemed fine, I think my E is a .95 or .100 Rounds.

I want to do my EB-0 with flats in bead, but I might settle with D-C standard. I have seen a few threads on modding long scale strings to use on a short scale, but I don't have the money to risk a set of chromes being trashed. I saw on amazon and a few other places selling 5 string short scale Rounds sets for like $34, that is an option. If you're like me and want flats, let me know what you find. I do know a guy "Din of Win", I used to know from Ultimate Guitar, had a Music Master bass 32" strung to BEAD, so it can be done, but I forgot to ask what strings he used.

Anyone like the name Thundersmoke/ Thunder Smoke? Idk if it's taken, but me and a friend were considering it for a off and on recording project. Here is a thing I made for it quickly.
