not to be a jerk but I offered to take it a page ago![]()
Yeah it would be something like that. If i check most of the cabs I have the readings are all over the place. 13.6 for a 16ohm,
3.4 for 4ohm, 6.8 for 8 ohm. One of the guitarists in my space has an old Sunn 6x12 down there and I think it's around 5-6 on the meter but on the tag it says 4ohm. What head are you gonna run these cabs with?
I wanted to get and use a synth from day one with machete for some crazy, sub low oscillation. Guitar player said he would quit if I got one. I said "Ok, no synth." ;$
), but i have a set of midi organ foot pedals, ala Rush, that are pretty rad. right now i can only use them w/ my computer though, and i don't like computers on stage... my current synth doesn't have midi (it's an old analogue realistic mg1, made by moog for radioshack).at the moment itll be an acoustic 220, but that may change if i decide to buy something else. but i liked that head, it was loud, deep, and cheap so im gonna stick with that for the time being.
how would you wire the cabs to get them to 8 ohms each?
Well you would have to find 12ohm speakers for it to be 8 ohm. If you ran 4ohm speakers wired series in banks of three and then wired the two banks of three together in parallel you come out with 6ohm. The 220 will run at 2 ohm (160w) so it would work. It's when you wanna start using other heads when it might get tricky.
