So the dudes I am meeting tomorrow said they have a bass rig I could use. Do I bring mine anyways because it's what I'm familiar with? What do you guys usually do when someone says they have a rig for you?

He didn't say a brand, touring bassist for pop punk band, but he did say 1000 watt amp, 4-10" and 1-15" cabs. Apparently he doesn't frequent TB or he would have known better...
disagree... too many days wiring houses by the ocean. when that cold winter wind whips off the ocean, it freezes your hands, makes the copper all stiff... it sucks. Don't even get me started on porta-johns in winter.
i got sick of the hire and fire cycle of colorado construction, so now i'm finishing up a certification to be an English teacher while working in a liquor store.
Yeah the ports Johns suck in the winter. They suck in the summer to though. I don't really mind the cold but I know what your saying about the wind whipping off the ocean. Did a couple of jobs down on the coast in February. Wasn't fun but I'll take that over 90 degree days with the sun beating on you.

I'm having a hard time thinking of a bad amp I couldn't work with.
I sit two feet from the AC and STILL sweat my ass off. Its practically a boiler room. But I can do whatever I want in my hotbox. Sittin on my butt, eating take out and doing tattoos for the last decade is a sure way to pick up 25lbs!

I demoed my '73 810 with a BX amp and it sounded pretty good, no lie.
I work in a hospital...so I`ve got a fleet of HVAC dudes keeping the air super comfy. Only I do shipping and receiving for the cafeteria and all the patient food. So I sweat my twig n` berries off in the massive kitchen and then freeze my butt off in the 3 walk in freezers/coolers.

Bring your bass at least, i tried out for a 80's retro band and brought a bass and the stoner board. The audition was on a time constraint but I was quick and professional. I didn't get the gig but they were in awe of the board
If a band has gear already and the music doesnt call for anything crazy specific, just use what they have. In my experience tone is never a deal breaker, they just wanna see how you play. If you play well they wont care about how perfect your tone is. The best tone in the world isnt going to mask any playing ability.
