Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Alright, so plenty of you guys know guitar rigs better than I. My guitarist's rig is making a weird, distort-y sound when he plays. It's not the head, as we've tested another one on the same cab. We thought it was something loose in the cab, so we opened it up and tightened all the speakers down. Still happening. I can hear it rattling when I'm playing bass alone in the room. What do you think? Loose grill? I'm thinking maybe, but haven't tried to tighten it up yet. Don't want to dig in unless he's around, you know? Anyway, any thoughts would be helpful, and thanks!

Grill or maybe the headcase of the amp, my vulcan squeaks pretty loud if it just sits on a cab, which is why it sits on a towel.

If that's vintage, then I'm an antique.

Im less concern about vintage cabs, more heads. those 412s are the bees knees, and i want a PVY 810 to replace my ampeg 810.

And every so often i get the sell all my cabs but my 218 with my 70s PA18s and get a dually tingle. Someday. When I come to my senses and my back gives out at age 26.

The 10" was a "throw in". very nice of the folks at Magnetic Eye.

Have this bad feeling I'm gonna owe the government some money. Hopefully not as much as last year.

New Guitard is slagging B standard on FB. Doing my best not to participate in his bitching, this experiment may not last long if he's dead set on drop tuning and one fingering into chuga chuga ville.

PVYHenge is loud, but not painfully deafening because its mostly bass, no ear piercing treble, unlike Jucifer...You feel it as much as or more than you hear it, I want to fill the room and encompass you, put you in a zen trance feelz more so than blast you away. In the right room it can blur vision, only happened once, one of the weirdest feeling ive ever had, your eye balls vibrating in your head, its uncomfortable. Finding the resonant frequnecy of things is quite fun, ive always wanted to destroy something by shear sonic frequencies.

And I wouldnt be surprised if some of you guys with 1000 watt heads and one super efficent cab were louder than me. I use old ineffcient cabs and and old low wattage heads. I just like the look of a wall or Henge.

But thats why I sometimes get the dually tingle. Id love to have a single head and single cab to run for Vega but my guitarist uses two stacks, a guitar stack and a psuedo bass stack, so i have a lot to fight off sonically. Dont know if even one cab and head would do so, im hestiant to drop the green on something like that when a wall works fine and my back works fine.
