I guess you're right Peavey, a 3db boost at 50hz is pretty legit in hindsight. I think I'm just not used to looking at these yet. I guess I'm just looking for something to assure me I'm not being dumb with any of my specs.

Really appreciate the kind words! We kept the release at EP length because it takes us forever to record, mix and master ourselves. We have the second set of six tunes written and I suspect we'll start recording them in late spring...so maybe we'll something new next winter?
No worries, I found more of your stuff on YouTube. Btw am I correct one person sings like 1,3,5 and another 2,4,6? How does it go and who is who?
We wont be doing small runs, it will be pushed into production once artwork arrives
My guitarist sang leads the odd-numbered tracks and I sang leads on the even-numbered ones. We split the backing tracks. Live, we almost always trade off every other song b/c it protects our voices and keeps the set fresh. That sorta infiltrated the listing on the EP.

I think EP's lend themselves to our style better too. It's hard to get people to sit down and listen to nine 8 minute tracks.
It's really shaken out to by my favorite Lips album over the last couple of years. It's the perfect bridge between the old noisy shag-all of the early stuff and the epic, intricately arranged quality of the Soft Bulletin/Yoshimi/At War era.
I've been wanting to do a cover of Lightning Strikes the Postman for a while now, tough convincing doom/sludge bandmates to take on a Flaming Lips song.
A 3db boost from your amplifier equates to double the power. Getting that gain from your speakers is not insignificant.
Wow. Kind of surprised to see the Lips mentioned on here. I used to be friends with these guys up until the late 90s when I became a family man and their fan base grew exponentially and they always had a ton of people glomming onto them. Just wound up losing touch with them more or less.
I saw their first shows around 1983 and saw them scores of times between then and...well, the Clouds tour was probably the last time I saw them live.
My next door neighbor and good friend used to do their album covers. I was present when this cover was being designed, and I was lucky enough to be in the studio some while they were recording the album prior--Transmissions from the Satellite Heart.
I've gotta be honest and say they kinda lost me over the years. They've released entire albums since Clouds that I don't care for at all. I'm glad they are still cookin' along and all, but while I'm a big fan of all their releases up through Clouds, there's not much beyond that point I get into much...a couple tracks here and there...I thought Zaireeka was a cool concept...
They just never were the same after Ronald left...
PS-- Lips fans might also dig the first two albums by Mercury Rev: Yerself Is Steam and Boces. Jonathan Donahue from Rev played on In a Priest-Driven Ambulance and Hit to Death in the Future Head by the Lips.
If I had to choose one, I'd say In a Priest-Driven Ambulance is probably my favorite Lips album. I just have so many good memories attached to it.

I was late to the party - got dragged to a show in 2006 and was blown away - promptly dug in to the whole catalog and ended up really digging Clouds, Transmissions, Hit to Death and Priest Driven Ambulance.
I really dig the Soft, Yoshimi, At War era too, saw them probably a dozen times between 2006 and 2010 - those show were really positive, life-changing events for me. I dug Embryonic when it came out, but the shows after that album got dark and weird. Then Wayne went all poopy and crazy and I lost interest.
But yeah - big Lips fan.
Another Lips fan. Got into them with At War With Mystics, love Yoshimi and Soft Bulletin. Got into the older stuff from there. Recent output's been really weird but still enjoyable. Seen 'em four times and they still put on a great show.
Yeah, I do dig some of the material on Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi, but I didn't care much for anything on Mystics or Embryonic. I bought The Terror and...just not my cuppa tea.
But like I say, I am glad they are doing their thing. Wayne is one of the most creative guys I've ever met. If he hadn't been successful at music, he could easily have been a fine artist or a comic book artist.
I dropped off really before they started doing the "mega-huge shows with UFO lights and dancers in fuzzy suits" sort of "happenings" but I imagine it would be fun to be at one of those shows.
I haven't talked to Wayne or any of those guys since probably 2000. I never even met Kliph or some of the other people who became members.
I have friends who are still tight with Wayne and they say--as you mentioned--he has gotten quite strange. Like a mid-life crisis. He started banging some 20-something groupie and his longtime GF split. He seems to be fascinated with expressing his virility and putting genitalia on everything...I dunno. Whatever floats your boat I guess...

One of my favorite Flaming Lips records. The Sonic Youth influence is a bit obvious on this one, but I like FL songs better
Just listed the tama kit to push me to quickly get this new kit up and going. Also my house can't support two full kits.
Damn drum stuff is pricey, but getting this new kit up and running will be cheaper, and I assume more in line with what I want. Still buying bass drum heads, and stands is no picnic.
