Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

i'd say try them out, if they sound like balls give them a clean and see what happens.

They sound good, I just figured I'd completely clean and redo everything. I'll try on the inverted hi-hat, because I don't know how to fix that... Yet

Heat gun is awesome. Should have used it on the bass drum I just pulled tentatively, but still peeled a little bit of ply up... Luckily it's on the bottom. Need to get those vent hole grommets out and then get 5 to replace them and the snare didn't have one. I'm keeping the snare sparkle blue, just took it apart to clean up and seal along with the others as it's quite old and dry. They aren't uniform in color so artist oil might be in order or a color as it looks like two kits, though it's not.

My house is old and tiny, so welcome to my kitchen/laundry.

For those of you wondering about the GK 800RB Power Amp Sim pedal, it rules. Killed it in the mix last night, definitely replaced my fuzz. My guitarist even mentioned how I cut so much better, and the boost gave me just a bit more growl and volume to really kill some of my lead-ier parts. Great pedal made by our TB brethren!

Cool! I missed who made it, who was it?

So, I'm thinking of some sort of Stingray 5 string bass. Definitely can't afford the real thing. Any good alternatives? Also, would probably string with flats. Good combo?

I LOVE Ibanez, and know the ATK is their Stingray, but they don't seem to be made anymore. Is SUB any good? Thanks for the opinions!

I've owned a SBMM Stingray and it sounded great. I currently own a 4 string ATK and it's a decent replacement, although I don't really use the preamp the same way since my Stingray was a 2 band version.

The MusicMan branded sterling and other budget models are pretty decent. I had chromes on my ray and loved it.
