Really I would dig on a good analog delay and maybe an octave pedal. The El grande fuzz sounds good to me (and I took it to a local shop to play through a "big boy" amp too, just to see.)

I don't have the $ or energy to chase the dirtiest, darkest, doomiest fuzz tone (as much fun as that would be...I wish it could be my full time job) so I'm just settling. Maybe get another Rat someday.

I know there will always be times/applications when I wish I had some chorus or flange, envelope filter, etc., etc. but I so like the idea of having the right amp setup to get decent dirt/OD from there when I want, and just have one scree'd out fuzz pedal to blow people's hair back when I step on it.

I do, though, have a penchant for old new wave and some old gothy stuff, so a chorus or flange would be cool for that somewhere down the road...

I am going to have to sell my SB-2. I am kind of bummed about it, but at the same time I am not. I don't know if my pickups have some kind of issue, it just isn't really that impressive sounding of a bass to me anymore. Doesn't have the teeth that I heard from it when I got it. I think the turning point for me was the installation of GZRs in my peavey P. I just think those pups hit the ideal P tone in my head. Need to sell to pay bills. If anyone is interested PM and I can send pics and offer a doom room discount, otherwise I am putting it up on CL today.

I'm kinda glad I never got into video games.

I'm old enough that I was quite the pinball wizard back in the day. I remember when Pong came out and we neighborhood kids would gather after school in the den of the one kid who had one...

I did play a lot of arcade games early on. I was particularly killer at Galaga.

But life took over and I just didn't keep playing. My kids doa lot of Xbox One and I like watching them sometimes, but I always think that if I were trying to learn now, it would just raise my blood pressure more than anything else..

Thinking about buying another looper. Probably snatch up a used TC Ditto but this EHX 360 looks cool, especially the ability to save 11 loops to memory on a simple setup.

I recommend something with two buttons. I'm going to unload my ditto when I get the time.

Yeah I really should buy another Akai Headrush, that sumbich was damn easy to set a loop and is an awesome sounding delay. My damn dog ruined two of them in a row but none of my other pedals so I am leery of them now. That was one pedal that I was actually going to buy two of the same pedal, one for delay and one for looping. I had a couple Boss ones and a couple Digitech ones and man I suck at setting the loop with them. I also get a pause in the loop or some other mess up. I must have awful timing.
Sounds like the Ditto will be just as hard to use then if you are shaking yours loose too.
Plus they are so tiny, I don't have a board so I will be chasing it all over the carpet LOL.

Yeah I remember for a while in the 90s when I'd get invited to parties it seemed like a number of them consisted of a couple guys playing a video game and everyone else gathered around watching them slamming beers and getting baked, waiting for their turn to play.

All ***? was I. Where are all the females? Why aren't people talking to each other?

It's totally cool for people who are into it, and I see the appeal, but I'm glad I never got "bit by the bug" as you say.

Now, if I ever won the lottery, you can bet j'ass I'll be having a pinball machine or two, pool table, air hockey, maybe an old arcade machine like Galaga or Centipede, and definitely an old jukebox that spins 45 rpms.

I've been a gamer since I was very small - but don't have the time for much of these days. The mobile games are nice because I can pick them up whenever I have a few minutes to kill.

I had a full-sized pinball machine when I was a kid. A friend's dad had one, saw me admiring it one day and asked if I wanted it. Heck yeah, I wanted it. So we loaded it up into the guy's pickup and brought it back to my parents' house. I must have been 10-12 years old. My parents were not exactly pleased that I came home with it without asking them first, but they let me keep it. It was a pretty old one, from the late 50s. It eventually developed an electrical problem - namely the entire metal plate on the front became electrified and gave me a nasty shock. Shortly after that one Saturday my dad made he help him load the pinball machine into his truck and we drove it to the dump. I had to push it into the giant compactor and watch it get crushed to death. I still get pissed about that. It could have been a cool project to learn how to fix it, we could have worked on it together, and I'd still have my damn pinball machine. But no, destroyed it. I think dad was still pissed that I brought it home without asking (also that it was dangerous).

Oh man that sucks! Gaaahh! I hate that FOR you. And yeah, I can't imagine they'd be that hard to fix. (Finding parts might be a different story.)

Speaking of games, I just discovered last night that one of my all time favorite games has been "remastered" and rereleased on the PSN. Oddworld: Abe's Exodus New 'N Tasty edition. The game had incredible graphics for its time when it was originally released with the playstation one launch. The screen shots from this edition look awesome. I know what I will be doing for some time. Side-scrolling, possessing sligs and farts, and saving mudokans.

Hmm, I've always wanted a R/W board SB2. And I know my SB2 is free of squeel. Wanna trade for a bit and see if you prefer the maple/ash sound? If you gotta sell fer financial reasons, I totally get that.

This is off even from the off topic we're off on, but years ago I had a very vivid dream in which I was in Bremerton, WA.

The odd thing is, I wasn't consciously aware, nor did I have a conscious memory, of even knowing there was a town by that name in Washington or anywhere else.

When I woke up the dream stuck with me so deeply I looked it up and was somewhat awed finding out it was a real place. Prior to this dream I had spent some time in NorCal and Portland, OR but had never been to Washington state.

I lived in Portland from 2009 to the end of 2013 and I did make some forays into Washington, but never saw Bremerton.

I really should have made the effort. I still remember what the town looked like in my dream (although in my dream it had more of the look of an old Northeastern/New England town to me.)

We left the PNW rather suddenly. I had planned to hit Bremerton; it just never happened.

That's supposed to be a sign that you lived a past life. Vivid dream and memories of places you have never been to. (For whatever that's worth)

I'm pretty deeply irreligious, though I study world religions and I do believe there's more to the universe than what our basic 5 senses can capture.

But I have no hard fast beliefs about any kind of afterlife (nor do I concern myself with it other than the occasional philosophical exercise.)

That said, I don't dismiss the idea of reincarnation/past lives out of hand. In some ways, it makes more "sense" to me than the idea of Heaven or Hell.

All I know is I was born one day and I will die one day. In between, I want to experience joy and share it with other people as much as possible,. I don't really worry about anything deeper.
