Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Went to a cookout Saturday. BYOB. Well, I BYOB'd, but everyone else drank the OB. Bought some brews I was eager to try, but didn't get the chance...

This morning, woke up like in the middle of a panic attack. Stress. Gotta figure out a way to blow off steam that will keep other people around me safe and keep me from getting locked up.

Now I find out we owe the IRS $1200 by April 15th because of some screwup on a tax return 4 years ago. I think it's their mistake, but if the IRS points at you and says "You Owe..." I don't think you have much recourse...

My luck I'll end up having to sell all the bass gear crap I JUST BOUGHT.

Ugh, hello Monday. Didn't do much yesterday, didn't sleep well saturday night, so was just tired and out of it all day. Finished reading Song of Solomon for my English class, made a pot of chili, did laundry. Actually, I guess I did accomplish a bit yesterday. Still, wish I was at at home sleeping.

Last week I found out our health insurance is going up a minimal of $1200 a year on top of no COL raises in like 5 years while our insurance has been steadily increasing that whole time. I got ready for work and the starter died and I got a migraine. Happy Monday! I feel for ya brother but keep some gear, you need something to rage through.
I got my aggression out on cutting down a bunch of up to 7 inch diameter trees, that fell over in the ice storm this winter, with a hacksaw and moving them to the pile across my yard.

It's such a racket. When I was working for the state, nobody in the agency I worked for had had a raise in 8 years.

Finally got one last November, but then all the insurance premiums, etc. went up in January. Ended up being a pay decrease.

I'm not sure I shouldn't just cash in my chips and undertake a life of crime.

not very doomy desert hot springs weekend, magic manor spa with the new dj gf, cabot's pueblo museum across the street, and some budget thrifting in the intense heat
she got me a huge hand carved black wooden spider from bali for my birthday and i made her a mix tape of makeout music on my iphone, hoping she will provide the beats
for the hardcore goth industrial bdsm electo clash project, cause she's way better with the samples than me or the drummer

PS-- As I've said before, my last job (with the DHS) was tedious, mostly monkey work. Some days were hectic, some people I had to deal with were difficult, but at least I could leave work at work and I didn't dread the work day. I'm actually trying to get back on with them, but the wheels of state anything roll on slowly.

We have business men and developer tea party nuts on/controlling the Board of Supervisors in the county I work for trying to take this semi-rural community back to the good ol' boy system so they don't have to follow rules. Their plan is to weaken the authority of the Planning department and chase people off to other jobs and call that fixing the budget.

How's that Jayhawks tune line go, every fool dies trying to get his day job back. I will probably always work making maps and trouble shooting gepdatabases for the gub'mint if possible but sometimes I see people working the toll booths and think wouldn't be that be a nice job.

My friend was supposed to get a kayak too, but now wants a paddleboard, but they are too expensive so he's in limbo...

Yeah you have to hound CL when they pop up. There is an outfitter down the OBX that is about 3 hours from me that sells old rentals off, so I keep an eye on them. I want a kayak material one so it will hold up to my abuse and I can rig it for fishing too. I would trash it or be too heavy for the surfboard type.

Congrats on the braces Kawai.

I spent my youth going to orthodontists and getting various nighttime retainers etc in prep for braces. Culminating in the doctor sitting us down to say keep up with the retainer and checkups but my jaw wasn't formed correct in the socket areas. As a treatment, they should remove it and reshape it and move my teeth around?!?? Freaked me the shag out.

Then one day the orthodontist took my mom into the office without me for like 2 min, we left and I never went back... Apparently he said he was quite wrong and I'd never need braces or surgery, goodbye for life.

My teeth aren't even or perfect but they work for me. Mostly I'm just one of those individuals with oversized canines.

My old boss's daughter was born with her jaw out of line with her face. She had some crazy surgery where they cut it away and realigned it. Eff that, no thank you, I would be like just call me the sidewinder.
