That is pretty much where I am at. We have already run in to a, "Can we move practice to another night?" issue with this. Why am I paying for a space I cant leave gear in, or use when ever I want?

I'd say you and the drummer stand together, and tell the guitarist, "No. And if you persist, we walk."

Now, the nice thing that will come of this is that when the guitarist's hurt feeling inevitably end up in band implosion, you guys are a solid rhythm section that will have no trouble getting a new band going.

He MAY see the light and realize what a tool he's been, and your band can continue on, but I don't know if I'd wager large sums of cash on that.

This is what it all books down to.
If you are uncomfortable, bail on the rehearsal location at least. If El Dicko doesn't respect it's sanctity you'll have other problems in the future and it will be time to find another paying gig.

He is pretty versatile in terms of singing, and a good guitar player. He doesnt make the band on his own, but we would be hard pressed to replace him with one person.

Yeah the drummer and I are pretty solid on this. He owns the PA too, so he isnt leaving his board there either.

"Rhythm section with PA looking for...." has a good ring to it.

He told me he felt like I was attacking his extra circulars. I dont care what he does, but the second it interferes with the money in my pocket, I will take issue.

If you've ever been to a Guitar Center, you see how people treat stuff that isn't theirs. This will be no different.

Now, had he said, the other bass player is getting his own rig in a week, and it will only be this one time, then maybe it's OK. But from what you wrote, it sounds like he said, he's going to use your stuff ad infinitum, and if you don't like it, tough. If you were a luthier, would you stand for someone telling you that they were going to be using your tools and shop for free?

thats pretty lame of your guitarist, id think twice about being a band with a guy like that, regardless of money.

Or better yet, "Hey I dont have my own wife. It is cool if I use yours right? I'll drop off some laundry for her to do, she can make me a sandwich, and I hope you like sloppy seconds, because she and I are going to go at least three rounds on various surfaces in your house..."

I think the baffle on my '66 is bigger than your 408's. You're the one with the small cab. ;)

I have known him for a long time. I used to consider him a really good friend, but he seems to have gone off the deep end on this.

So, I bought some new tuners for my bass, Fender style headstock, and they show up and are 2+2s. D'oh!

since they were a great deal, I simply reversed 2 of them and now the only issue is sometimes the key heads clip each other. LOL. You know, I don't even care.
