Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Sucks about the car, but I'm glad everyone's ok.

Thanks, the wife was a little rattled because the baby was in the car. He was properly strapped into his high quality car seat though, so he was totally fine and in a mood the whole rest of the day. My wife got her knee banged up pretty good, but other than that it was just major damage to the car. The driver at fault thankfully had good insurance and we have gap insurance on our car loan, so we just have to be patience and wait for everything to get sorted out.

In significantly more terrifying news, this is happening...

I just figured out why you have such a hard time finding musicians to play with: you're too responsible. Tell you what though, sure paid off this time.
Glad to hear everything is OK. And when I say that I'm assuming you find a limp sexy?

That's definitely a possibility, I'm operating at an extremely high level of responsibility for a musician.

I'm not NOT into a limp.

You know, I've read this 5 times and I still don't know if you're laughing or putting me on your ignore list...

Either way I'm going to take this moment to overshare.

My wife and I tease each other mercilessly so things can get mean.
So about 13 years ago I'm in the hospital getting my finger sewn back on and I'm kinda joking around saying "I wish this had happened to my foot, I could finally get a pegleg."
This is where my wife stops me and says, ”you do this and I'll still love you but I won't be having sex with you. "
I guess my wife agrees with you on the limp.

I'm laughing, don't worry. I'm only about a quarter of the way here mentally today, even outside of the fact that my sense of humor is pretty dry to start.

aaaaaand Styrofoam Tombstone is now on Spotify!

I'm listening to it right now, basking in the afterglow of my BBQ lunch. Sounds goooood.

It's a good pedal but it hasn't blown me away right form the get go like the Akai Headrush did. Those tones might be in there though. I might just go all out and get me a DD20 or go back to nice and simple and get another Carbon Copy.

What are you selling?

What a week, haven't hardly been online at all. Super busy at work, my wife got in a car accident on Tuesday and I had to take most of the day off to deal with that. Car totaled, minor injuries, the other driver was completely at fault because they straight up ran a stale red light into a busy intersection. Apparently she is trying to dispute that with her insurance company, but the police report and 3 other witnesses make that meaningless. Ended up somehow selling a couple odds and ends of leftover drum accessories and old gear I found while cleaning my garage. Other than that, not much music related happenings, unfortunately.

Youch, brother. So glad your wife is okay. My wife had the same thing happen about a year and a half ago...big SUV ran a red light and t-boned her. Only decent/relatively new car we ever owned. Totaled out. Car looked like a damn horseshoe and my wife was seriously injured. If anyone had been in the passenger side of the car, it would have meant Death. My wife had to stop working and she's never physically been the same.

I'm not trying to "one-up" your story...just saying you guys were fortunate and I am thankful for it, for you both.

Not trying to be gloomy, but sometimes injuries take a few days to become evident...I hope and expect she is fine, but keep an extra close eye on your lady for a few days...

Glad you and yours are all safe!

It is that new Mooer Reecho Pro.
And a picture of one of the puppies for no reason at all. Not choking it, just was hard to get it to sit still for a pic.

Yeah, that's why she went straight to urgent care after the accident. We had her and the boy checked out by a doctor and got everything documented, just to be safe. She just had some scrapes and bruising on her knee. This is actually the third car accident she's been in that wasn't her fault where the car got totaled. First time was a teenage girl driving a giant Yukon, who was looking at her phone and plowed straight into us when traffic came to a stop. That was a double impact, she hit the gas instead of the brake after we bounced off her bumper and slammed us again. I got whiplash in that one. The last one was when my wife was waiting at a stop light and a teenage boy, driving his dad's lifted SUV drunk plowed into her at something like 50 MPH and took off, but the cops caught him about 2 minutes later, because obviously his vehicle was in no shape to drive away. This one is kind of squarely in the middle between those two, severity wise, but thankfully no one was ever seriously injured in any of them. The crazy thing is my wife had a long commute to work for years and never got into an accident, all of these were on surface roads in town. This was the only one she was actually moving when it happened.
