Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Welp, now I have some watching to do. I have a bunch of long weekends coming up because our company is a "Use it or lose it" kind with PTO, so I scheduled like 5 of them.
My migraines have always put a dent in my time so no worries of losing any time. I just come to work anyway now, loopy as all get out, eff it. Finally got about 50 hours built up though for a vacation next year...hopefully.
I've got tickets to for to P'cola in September and have zero hope of having the PTO by then. So things might come to a head....
Well you will find out how much they need you to let you have unpaid leave or you can do the oh eff it, time for a change anyway.
Damn, how you gonna get anything done, with work and all?...
I spend a lot of time waiting for the server to respond. If I have 1:30 to kill I can check up on TB.
Whelp, Mace sounds awesome but is basically unusable for vega, which is a super bummer.
But I dont think its the heads problem...I actually think its my guitards problem. Since he runs a guitar stack and a bass stack his sound is so full range, he sounds awesome alone or in the mix, aka he is the mix. I as the bassist either need to cut through it or be uber dub. Well my SS Peavey they do dub okay but dont have enough clean power to do it perfect, this Mace it cuts, cuts hard. Sounds awesome doing it, IMO it was the best Ive ever sounded.
Then my guitarist said "wheres my bassist?" In which I replied "right there" pointing to his bass stack...he doesnt get that he makes it super hard for me to fit in tone wise and doesnt want to compromise...

That sounds like a pretty simple fix. Walk over to his bass amp, and turn it off. Everyone gets their own sonic space. Play him some Monobrow.
Yeah same here, the mapping software is total wait for it, no wait for it, no...wait for it. Whenever I get migraine induced instant re re frustrated I hide on simple things till it comes back around too. Plus this place is like my only male bonding time(fn migraines, I used to have a life LOL), and it is about music too, so I am pretty addicted to here.
Pretty much described to a "T" the reasons guitarists are so hard to work with. They don't understand they have to make eq space for other people.
The comparison of them playing alone vs. in the mix are meaningless.
Haven't been in a band like that in a while and refuse to ever again.
An I octave down pedal would blow some of Max's speakers I suspect.
I vote: stick an FDeck in the guitarist's effects loop.
So ya know, I'm still trying to find some semblance of an amp rig that will work for full band practices and (hopefully) gigs.
Good chance that if I can afford anything it's gonna be a used combo amp of some kind. I know that is not ideal.
I had always thought of Fender Bassmans as amps guitar players used more than bass players, but what do you guys think about this:

PS-- Looks like this version of the 400 was only around in the early 2000s and then was replaced with a "Pro" version that apparently has more bells and whistles.
Most comparables I've found people are asking more like $400-$500.
Good chance that if I can afford anything it's gonna be a used combo amp of some kind. I know that is not ideal.

Yeah that was a fubar I meant to say octave up to step on the guitar range. I fixed it but it was too late, she said there was no way...
I always liked the tone of these, YMMV. Plenty of power, could always gig with that in a reasonably low volume band, maybe add a cab later, or just use it to run a bigger cab and unplug the onboard speaker to avoid cab conflicts.
That amp should be OK for a reasonable band practice and any gig with PA.
Most people say those sounds like turds. My experience was meh but not terrible.
Can sound good, takes EQ work but my god are those cabinets "boxy" sounding.
Really if you can get a head and cabinet separate so you can mix and match trading up to better stuff.
