Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Kind of surprises me...flats for doom, that is. I haven't run a set of flats in many years but I plan to put some on the old SX P bass I'm putting back together.
My flats work for pretty much anything. My distortion/OD brings enough treble into the signal that it works for me. But I don't like really bright bass sounds typically.
I like the old-school Geezer Butler-esque sound that comes from flats. Sounds awesome, but maybe not ideal for every situation.
Was thinking about the rock/punk band last night - I think I'll use the ATK w/ flats, but switch to the bridge pickup, use a pick and dial up some aggressive dirt with an OD pedal. I never use the bridge pickup, maybe it's just what I need for this band. We'll see.

Nice MIM. My "best" bass is an MIM P and I dig it, but have considered selling/trading it for an amp. Trying to avoid that...

Last time I saw Cooter play was with his newer band Grotto - I believe he had an AD200B, not certain though.

Long story short I got this today from a estate sale of a local friend/musician that passed away. Had some sentimental value so i couldn't pass it up.

You know, every so often, I get a craving to get another fuzz pedal. TFR and Supercollider are always at the top of my list. Cloven Hoof was added today. But then I start looking at clips and the Pharaoh inevitably comes up. It always kills that GAS. Love my Pharaoh! If I ever get another fuzz, it's the Pharaoh Supreme. Just felt like sharing.
In other news, I found a local shop today that stocks Joyo and Earthquaker Devices! It's a few bucks more than Amazon, but it's an actual local place, so worth it to me. Might have to check them out for more stuff in the future.

Damn you Univox owning fools. Wish I hadn't missed out on that bad boy a few weeks back. A Frigidaire amp would have been super cool.
