So all this black widow and various model talk of late has got me curious. I still want a cab that's smaller than my current stuff. I know the older black widow was mentioned as not being very bass friendly beyond grind.
Do you think a diy small 1x15 black widow equipped cab could function well for guitar and low volume bass of it had a removable back for sealed or open back. Heads would be my 50 and 100 tube heads.
No better or smaller than your Bassic.
The 1502-8/4 BW use larger sized boxes.
Really they are huge 115s.
I've made allot of comments here about how they aren't good for bass. What you have to realize is I'm not talking about the instrument, I'm talking about frequency range.
They can sound INCREDIBLE if you don't have much content below 80hz or so. Same goes for low volume. My comments are related to:
A. People who drop-tune, D, A, C etc are very common Stoner/Doom tunings.
B. People who play very loudly. Also common around here.
Those two circumstances are what made me destroy several 1502BWs. (The third condition would be a fair helping of DumbAss.)
Really though, playing in standard tuning with PA support or at reasonable vomun volume, a Peavey 215D loaded with 1502-8s will crush.
So filter all my experience through the idea that I tried to make my cabinets do things they weren't designed for.
