heres some pics of the new set up at the space...the fungshui is fung-great!

Looking into the room from the door...sitting area with couch and mini fridge and unfinished vega mural are off the right out of picture.

Finally painted that bare drywall wall, purple was the obvious choice.

The new soundproofed ceiling makes GH sound so much better, for VEGA its a bit wierd yet. But theres no question its a major improvement soundwise...I even had to dial PVYHenge back a bit.

Finally tried out Pelham Bleu's Megalith I have on loan, HOLY FVCK!!! Eyeball rattling low end, ridickadankulous amount of output...but its almost too much. It was causing like a latency or phase issue that made it sound like I had a delay on when going full bore, replaced it with my black muff and the issue was gone. Spent a good amount of time knob diddling and on my rig it all kinda sounds the same, the tone changes are very sudtle. BUT that lowend is city leveling. Cool pedal but a one MASSIVE elephant sized trick pony.

No it aint.

Im sure some big ol bass tube amp like a SVT would gobble up the lowend it puts out with ease but my old SS cant take that much I guess...

Speaking of tube amps, my mace sounds fugging baller while using my phase wizard as a boost pedal, a little bit of clean grit for normal then slam it with 20+dbs of boost makes it scream.

My first time on stage at an actual rock club, the band I was in covered "The Thrill is Gone".
I was fortunate enough to see him on a tour with Taj Mahal, Indigenous, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the Santa Barbara Bowl when I lived in CA back in 1999.
Only other concert I saw at the Santa Barbara Bowl while I lived there.... Tool w/ Melvins Nice place for a show.

Just discovered this band on youtube. The channel - Stoned Meadow Of Doom Seems to have hit my sweet spot. I dig most of the albums posted there.
This band sounds like a cross between Jimi Hendrix and Kyuss.

I'm seeing some good cab deals on gc used. Peavey 8x10 for $200. I've had them ship pedals to my local store for free, i wonder if they'd ship a cab.

****... I could get that shipped to my local GC and get a fat discount on it, but I really don't need more non 215 cabs.

So I bought and received two JBL K140s. Both were listed as being in good working condition with no rips tears or dents.

Speaker one arrived with a small tear in the outer ring(foam?) of the cone. I decided to keep it and accept the sellers offer of a partial refund. I asked for just shipping, he gave me 50%. I am happy with that deal because other than that tiny hole, the speaker is in fantastic condition. I am hoping that it will not require a full recone, but I really do not know a damn thing about speaker repair. Either way I will be good with it as I paid (after refund) $40 for the speaker.




And then speaker two arrived yesterday.

This was also pictured in excellent condition, despite having been reconed and voided of aluminum. This is what showed up. Seller insisted it was well packed and that fault lies with the post office.

Yeah... that definitely looks like a USPS error... No support at all. Just a broken down box and a minimal amount of bubble wrap. Contacted the seller and they have sent me a return label and will issue a full refund. Kind of a bummer, but at least its a clear cut deal breaker. Still gotta find one more intact K140 before @D.M.N. clears out the global supply.

I don't even load gear these days until I know what room were playing in. Lately just using practice amps in an over loaded one car garage. Drummer using a roland E kit through another practice amp. Low volume practice has helped get some of the songs tight. But it's so much fun being loud.

Yeah, with the practice spot being 40 miles away I really want to be sure that everyone is going to show up before I load up the car and drive down there. Still haven't heard from anyone. I'm wondering if this band is going to make it.

I have high hopes for band #2 on Sunday - I like that there's 13 songs all ready to go.

The Behringer clones sound pretty decent, maybe get one of those to use while you look for a deal on the real thing.

Remember the official Entombed/Dismember setting for the HM2 - all knobs on ten.

I believe you mean all knobs on "eleven".

One more HM-2 thought: Abominable makes a killer clone that has add'l mids control and a second FS that boosts the gnarliness. It was called YM-2 Yeti Metal but then rebranded to Throne Torcher.

I remember seeing that before. Trying not to spend that much, but we'll see. It's always an option.

I've been very happy with AE. His pedals are not all that expensive. Nice thing is you don't need that ASA power supply BS to run it. Just sold a MIJ HM2 in my last pedal purge.
