Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I played in symphonic band through school so I know what you mean wanting "military precision".
That's a hard need to break, how to keep the balance of "relax and enjoy" vs accurate perfect etc.
The trick for me is to "stop" trying to keep time and push my metronome on the drummer.
Playing the exact same thing at the exact same meter is IMO easier than playing the exact same thing at a flexible meter.
I say this to mean focus your attention at being one with the drummer as opposed to caring if everyone does it like the recording.
Course all this goes out the window if your drummer is inept.
Weird cause in reality I've got serious trust issues, which completely disappears when I'm "one with the drummer." Somehow I let go and trust them.

If you notice I'm ignoring any and all guitars, that's the real message here.
Good luck man.

Actually I am pretty good at locking in with the drummer. The guitarists are the issue. Our drummer is capable, but not perfect at holding an exact tempo throughout a song. He also tends to get a little excited during the fast songs. The guitarists though... they get VERY excited. They both speed off on their own tempo. Sounds like a huge CF. I don't think it is that noticeable from the audiences perspective, but I always hear it.

Looks like I may have the Dually sold. Just trying to work out scheduling to meet up halfway between here and Los Angeles. Got jack sh*t on my amps for sale though. I keep getting people making me offers, I accept, then they never message me back ever again.

BSY600 Bass Synthesizer pedal.

The Behringer sounds better then the Boss it copied? I have been jonesin' for a synth pedal for some reason lately too. I thought about trying the guitar version of the Digitech pedal but maybe I should just get the Behringer. I got an expression pedal already.
This looks pretty cool too for a wah.

I had one dingus who claimed two pedals from my recent purge, "sent" me money via PP and then disappeared. Money never arrived and pedals never left my possession. Good ol' Faceboog.

I was able to A-B the Behringer and the Boss directly and I preferred the sound of the Behringer. If you don't mind the shoddier construction vs. the Boss, it's a good way to go.

Haven't had anything that involved. It's more just been "Hey, will you take $____ and ship to _____?" or some variant on that for local pickup, meet them in some certain city an hour drive away. I respond "Hmmm...sure" and ask for their info or ask when they're available to meet and let them know my schedule and they never respond. Why the hell make the offer if you're not ready to pull the trigger?

Understand completely.

Hm, I'll locally pick up your Traynor Bassmaster for 110% of your asking price plus a handy. Whaddya say?

i missed this earlier...why are you selling the Dually?

My wife's car got totaled by a driver who ran a red light into traffic. We had to pay up all the bills at the time, in hopes that insurance would quickly pay up due to the OBVIOUS liability by the other driver, who had good insurance. Even though there were 3 witnesses, one of which was the driver in her oncoming lane who was stopped at the red light, and a police report finding her at fault...her insurance said they don't think she's liable and aren't paying up. So we have to go to arbitration, which will take another 3-6 months.

All of which is to say, I emptied out all my gear savings again and we're still going broke and I have two Duallies. So....
