So what does cop that sound? Besides the real deal, of course.Neither can really do the Matamp sound. The AD200 does not really share anything with it's original Matamp design.
@Speedor
Is that a you in your avatar?

The only isolated bass that is roughly in stoner doom territory I can think of it Mastodon's guitar hero stuff which can be found easily on youtube. Otherwise I'd just learn Sabbath and Om songs. Since Om is a drum/bass duo for most of it's existence it's relatively easy to learn by ear. It's all pretty much the blues scale with some exceptions anyways.I'm looking for some good "starter" songs that either have Isolated bass tracks on Youtube, or have the bass really forward in the mix. I'd like to start training my ear for Stoner/Doom bass.
Any recommendations? I've done some work with Sabbath already... Any others?

well I assumed be overdriven amp that we're talking about power tube OD not preamp drive. if we're talking about preamp drive then anything with a master volume would work with an 810.
No, to simulate a non master amp you max the master and control volume with your gain knob.Wouldn't setting the master and gain at the same position simulate a non-master amplifier?

I see. Thank you for clarifying.No, to simulate a non master amp you max the master and control volume with your gain knob.
I don't think anything cops that tone at least in a tube amp form that you'd find at sweetwater. You mentioned it had to be new and from there.
Maybe that sansamp Orange pedal.
The AD200B is a fender tone stack with baked in mid scoop, my fear is you buy a fancy pedal to sculpt the tone of your fancy amp and the amp cuts the tone you want from the pedal.
Fender and orange EQ both have a mid scoop any time other than controls @ 2/10/2ish.Orange and fender both use the fmv
And the ampeg is baxandall
Back home now. While I was in the hospital someone stole money out of my wallet. Must have happened when I was taking a shower. It was in a nightstand drawer by the bed.
The things that happen to me...in my past life I must have been an animal abuser or something.

Shouldn't be a big problem with an Ampeg 810e though.
