Yep.

You plug in the head phones, put them on, then take a listening test. It maps out your hearing in conjunction with your phones, then levels it all out. So the response you get is "set flat" making the eq you use after that point more meaningful.

I have to disagree with the last statement, I think bass players are much more respected in this genre compared to pretty much any other subgenre of rock or metal.

Those are some good bands, but I was trying to find some that had bass tones that were just octave down guitars. All of those use heavy doses of fuzz.

IMO, any power trio is going feature prominent bass/bassist by default. If not on record that at least live as the band seeks to create as much sound as possible with three dudes.

Not hearing any sort of fuzz or distortion here:



Also, if you have the bass cranked on your listening device you may need to turn it down. A lot of times it just mushes things up. Especially Kyuss - Sky Valley comes alive when you cut the bass a little bit.

Jesus, Dani is getting fat.

I remember reading some interview with them years ago, talking about touring through the southwest U.S. - apparently one night they stopped for dinner at a mexican restaurant. He ordered a margarita, was shocked and disgusted by it - returned it for a gin and tonic. He also thought all of the Hispanic people were Native Americans and was confused when none of them wanted to answer his questions about their Native upbringing. It was nice to see a non-American so ignorant of other cultures for once.
