Put an ad out for a bass vi a week ago, and a guy several hours away contacted me and said he got one used from GC for $199. He said that he didn't want it and would call me when he returned it if I wanted it. So he called then I called GC and its shipped to me for $220
So depending on how things go I either get what I hoped for, or I'm disappointed, but got a cool guitar to help soothe the disappointment.

Did ye sell off your original VIer? I sold mine off and, while I do miss it on occasion, anything I wrote on it for band ended up getting adapted to four string. That, plus I kept hitting all the pup switched with aggressive picking.

Still have the other in pieces. I just came to the conclusion that I miss it and I've taken too long to fix it. So I plan to do a lot to it still. I just wanted one now, so used black one for $199? Yes please.
I read and partly posted some info the other week about how to fix most of the buzz and intonation issues with some stuff from Home Depot. So I'm gonna play it and maybe try the simple fixes.
In the end one will be heavily fancy modded with flats and such. The other just rounds and cheap fix. Two different sounds on the same platform I like most.
Last week I took Saturday off because my team didn't have a whole lot to produce and I had already hit 40 hours, leaving me with a 4 day week (off Tuesday and Thursday) and both Saturday and Sunday off. This week I had Sunday and Tuesday off. I came in at 1am this morning and am on my way home because I have a full crew with a small amount to produce and a management meeting at noon, and my boss thinks I'm the **** and that I do great work. Sometimes being the boss fuqing rules.
Still flyin' high on that Rush kick after the show two Fridays ago. This morning it's Grace Under Pressure. Good tunes with the coffee.

Well and a shim and some brass tubing to stabalize the bridge.
My sister found an old fender strat pickup set at a garage sale for me. So I'm thinking whichever gets the flats maybe should get a set of equal output vintage style pickups vs the more modern pickups stock with hotter middle and hottest bridge,
All this instrument talk makes me want to finally fix up the epi SG that's hanging in the basement. A friend gave it to me years ago, it's a cheaper Korean one from the 90s, black, beat up. It had the input jack on the front, he had left it plugged in and leaning on something, fell over, busted out the input jack and a lot of the wood surrounding it. He filled the large hole with a fender style angled input plate - which I thought was kind of genius, it fits perfectly into the hole, then gave up on it. The input jack needs to be rewired - no big deal - and the plastic nut was all busted up so I replaced that. Got one that was uncut and proceeded to screw it up trying to cut it.
So the nut needs to be replaced and I lost a couple of bridge saddles for it at some point. I really need to just get those parts on order and get the thing up and running. After that I can think about replacement pickups/other mods.
But yeah, $20 worth of parts and I could have a pretty sweet ratty SG.

Those are a blast. There's a used Epi EB-3 in my local shop for $199. Play it every time I go in there. Just not into short scales that much, and you know I have OCD/PTSD issues with set necks. But I love the SG shape.
I know it's meager and even ridiculous by the amp rig standards here, but I should be picking up a used Fender Rumble 150 at a good price this weekend. Just hoping it can be a starter ticket for jamming with some people again and maybe even small gigs down the road.
If I can't make that happen, probably gonna chuck all ideas of ever playing in a band or playing live again and just focus on recording.
May be moving again...putting in for better-paying jobs--so I could start something just to back out, but still hoping it'll work out somehow without me ending up playing bad classic rock covers with sad old farts...
