With MXR M85 out of the equation for now, I'm considering either the Blower Box or Abominable DSOM now. Suggestions?
Super hard to find! I was looking for the same thing and possibly loaded with a EMG so I could get some meat head metal tone with my metal zone. I scored this last year but I hate the Floyd so much I don't play it. Great feeling/playing neck though. The pickup is ok but it's a flip piece now. Too clean. Kinda rare I guess too, 88-89 MIJ ESP made Kramer with a recessed trem. This is basically a Japanese baretta.

and yes, any ground is good ground, there should be one common ground AFAIK
Thankfully my hypothetical situation was just that. I simply forgot to ground the ground wire in the cavity, and it made it there. Real quick fix, we were just getting a little late and rushed the night before. We tuned it all up, and it's good as gold now. Well, almost. He didn't want me to intonate (is this even a word?) his guitar, but then he left it here, so I'm gonna do it anyway! Take that!

Got an offer for my Rat - $139. Had it listed at $159 to see if anyone would bite.
I'm on the fence about selling it. I really can't make it work for bass, but it sounds SO killer on guitar. I don't own any sort of guitar amp/rig and don't see myself getting one anytime soon. Furthermore, I don't expect to be playing guitar in any projects any time soon (if ever). I have the M85 - haven't tried it on guitar but I imagine it would work just fine.
So, do I hang on to it just because I like it and let it sit on a shelf or sell it for more than double what I have into it?
Not hurting for money right now.

The Boneshaker looks awesome! Too bad they keep delaying it. My buddy pre-ordered one, and they haven't shipped out yet. I guess they can't count how many pre-orders they have and prepare accordingly? I mean, he did it back in January!
Boneshaker looks cool, but I think I'd drive myself nuts with that deep of an EQ.

It is really cool to have that much control on a dirt pedal, thing looks awesome. I'm just an obsessive tweaker so between the 3-band EQ on the ATK and the normal EQ stack + 10-band graphic on the 2-PRO I've got all the tone shaping I need.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with that.
DSOM is even cheaper, but I already have a relatively decent RAT copy, now I'd like something better without breaking the bank. AND I need a new pedal. GAS addiction is hell
MXR M85 is on a backburner now, I'll definitely get it some day, but I'll wait till the hype goes down a bit.

I wouldn't get too upset, people are stupid and love to make crazy assumptions about anyone who disagrees with them. I was weighing on a discussion about the minimum wage yesterday and someone told me to go back to "drinking your $11 latte's at your 'local' Starbucks. I'm running an actual small business, which if you did, you would know why you're wrong". I get sh*t like that all the time when I weigh in on business oriented political stuff. I've been working full time every day since I was 18 (I'm 36) and running a small business for 10 years. There are a lot of people that are comfortable just thinking that everyone who disagrees with them is one type of person that's some kind of made up villain of their fantasy (lazy college liberal, evil racist conservative, predatory homosexual, megalomaniacal religious zealot) and not just real people with different opinions. Several times I've had assume I was a millennial who has never had a job and all kinds of ridiculous assumptions that are craaazy far from reality. To be fair though, the world is filled mostly with people who never think about why they believe the things they do. They just adopt an attitude that gets put in front of them because it makes them feel good about themselves or makes the world make sense easily to them. Maybe I'm being cynical about that. I'm a classic overthinker though and while I'm opinionated, I'm always open to revision and try not to assume people who disagree with me know I'm right and are just choosing to be evil.
