You need a 35" scale neck. You cannot set your bridge up like a Dingwall without a fanned neck.

You need a 35" scale neck. You cannot set your bridge up like a Dingwall without a fanned neck.
If you dont have fret (markers) then you can extend the scale via moving the bridge. The notes will all shift down the neck though. If you have frets, you are stuck to the scale the neck was built for.

Have you played a legit hm-2? Is the fabtone exactly the same? Local one for a good price. Also does origin matter?
If so I could probably use it instead as it's a more durable box.

I have not played an actual HM-2. I have played both the Fab Tone and Behringer clone. Both are good, I prefer the Fab Tone. Mind you, I prefer the OD relatively low on these, (9 o'clock) but it's an HM-2 so that's still plenty of distortion. I'd jump on the real thing, though. You could probably flip it for more if you've got a good price on it.
Oooh...I just lined up all my older/budget/non boutique overdrives to play around on with my new P. The Boss ODB-3 sounds freakin amazing with it for the grindy tones i used to used to get out of my Ray. In fact I was able to cop pretty much the exact tone I used on the last Mental Waste recording using the 2 band EQ on the pedal. It's super cool when cheap stuff sounds great.
The distance between frets needs to change if the scale length changes. With a fretless i guess it wouldn't really matter, except any markers it has would be useless
There's a guy on reverb selling under swaptronics and makes a $69 germanium fuzz face clone, for an additional $20 he'll give it a bias knob and input knob for added options.
He also sells a range master clone for $69.
I've really want to try these pedal a while and I bet they combine well. So I asked him how much it would be to get the guts of both the upgraded Fuzz face and the range master in one box with a switch to change the order.
A ge/si switch would be cool too for both, but I probably could add that myself once I got that platform.
If the hm-2 is for sale I'll grab it and compare the sell off the fab tones or hm-2. then flip a few other unused pedals and get that fuzzy custom unit.
Then finish my tonal bypass mod bb fuzz to compare to the prevailing hm-2 variant as I found them similar as hell when the fabtone has the treble cut off completely.

Well, seems like the band is going the way of the dodo soon. Two of my band mates have been saying for weeks that they'll go to venues and contact the people they know to book us shows. They have yet to do anything, and the people they know seem to have different phone numbers now. Sounds mighty suspicious. My best buddy in the band is tired of this and many other things going on (as am I) and we've talked privately about leaving the group for a long while now. He told me today that if they haven't done anything by this weekend, he's quitting next week. I'll likely go with him as he and I write a vast majority of the material and really have good chemistry. Sucks, since I've really been trying to make this work for FOREVER. Oh well. Let's hope it works, but if it doesn't, I've got another good friend who's a guitarist and maybe we can get him in the fold and start fresh. Wish me luck!
Anybody know the differences in the Earthbound Audio Supercollider? I know there are a few versions out there, just not sure which is the most current or "best". What say ye, Doombros?
Isn't Phoenix like 45 min from Tucson? Is there a train between downtowns or anything? I know Tucson is smaller but, that might mean commuting or technically moving to Phoenix if that's the opportunity.

Both circuits the guy builds are super simple, but he's got all the components including NOS, that me buying just enough for one would be cost prohibitive.
He just got back to me and reminded me that one pedal is center positive and the other begative so they wouldn't be able to share power, he also implied he is not willing to combine the two or even just source a bigger box for the fuzz (I hate knobs on the side).
I guess I'll have to get them both, but I wonder if he'd sell me the wired up fuzz rats nest sans box so I could make my own enclosure.
