Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I played Mr. Grumpy with my standard tuned pine P bass and my pedalboard for about 20 minutes. Boss ODB-3, Joyo Ultimate Drive, Dunwich Cthulhu and Dunwich Volt Thrower. Ran it into my Ampeg 810 and my Faital loaded Dually. All the pedals sounded good with the right combinations and cabs. Mr. Grumpy really likes the 810, the Dually is a bit bright sounding with such a hifi amp, but I could probably tame it with the right settings and pedal.

I turned the master volume all the way up.

Sounds like a really amazing amp, I really like the understated look too. Kinda reminds me of classic Hiwatt amps. Very, very cool stuff.

Well, had a practice without the guitarist yesterday. Just drums and heavily distorted, fuzzed out bass. Did four 15- minute jams of repetitive doom/noise. Had lots of fun. If we two were a band, we'd have a good start for a first album :D
Took out my J for that practice for a change, put it through RAT and Cloven Hoof, sounded awesome.
Hope some riffs will filter down to our normal practices.

Walked into a local mom and pop that is known for excessively high prices today looking for a daisy chain power cable. Ended up walking out with a used DL4 for $100 bucks. Apparently they hadn't yet searched for the value of it. It doesn't work with batteries but the guy threw in a converter cable for my pp2+ for free. Maybe they bought it cheap as broken or something, I'm not sure. I'll play with it for a while and flip it for some easy cheese. That being said, if anyone is interested, I'd pass it on for a good deal, one that money could still be made on.

G'morning. Jamming with some new dudes this evening. Might be a second music project starting up. Then I have two MDT gigs this weekend: we have a Friday early slot (6 p.m.) at a bar that does bands inside and outside (we're outside). That's usually more of a cover band crowd, so hopefully they're ready for fuzz'd up originals! Sat. gig is a house party with three bands, always potential for a great time. I'm loading up the two OBC 410s for the weekend mostly because of the Saturday house show; the space where the bands will set up is too tight to get a fridge downstairs safely. Anyways, lots of music coming up.

Good luck on the shows, dude! Not much going on in janitor land. Had a going away happy hour for one of my coworkers last night. Got home at 9:30 and promptly fell asleep while reading a book. Woke up when the alarm went off this morning. Slept all weird and now my neck hurts like a mf'er. Riveting stuff, i know.

I had to get back on the Wallatin D (Walgreens' Claratin D) this week, pollen suddenly reared its ugly head again.

I am on singulair but think it has lost its effectiveness. I could barely get out of bed this morning, eyes were more red then Cheech and Chong, and body felt so heavy from the histamine I guess. Trying to keep sinus swelling in check as that triggers migraines. I slapped down my morning singulair backed with claritan and Sudafed, and a few ounces of kava just because...kava :).
Kind of hoping I could land that job in Las Vegas.
We keep some kiddie pools for the pig and two outside rescue dogs and it is so gross to see how fast they fill with pollen.

Here's the acetate disk being cut.

Truly a thing of awe and beauty.

I've been on a few CDs and, earlier on, professionally duplicated cassettes, but being on vinyl in some way, shape or form is on my bucket list. I actually have some friends who put out a 7" ep in the early 90s and I do a little backing vox and handclap sort of stuff on it, but it ain't the same. Doesn't count in my mind.

Congrats and keep us posted!
