Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I wasn't really a fan of the baked in tone either. It made me feel like my bass and gear sounded like every other bass and rig with an active sansamp in the chain. Felt very vanilla. However, I was under the impression that that tone was more or less dependent on the presence setting, so all the way CC would be minimal to no sansamp tone.
I believe that is the "Blend" knob. All the way off means no SA effect. "Presence" is more of a treble increase to my ears.

But can it drive a power amp? I was actually considering getting a GK MB800 for use as a preamp/backup power.

Just read from the Aguilar website that the TH pedal can drive a power amp. Interesting. I don't know how I feel about my sole preamp being on the floor, but it could be cool. I have been intrigued by the aggies for a while, but never enough to drop the coin.

I use one with my Crest ProLite 3.0 all the time. I really dig it.

Hmmm. That is very intriguing. I'll have to go play a TH with one of my fuzzes and see how they interact, it is probably the most attractive option and a relatively easy flip if I don't like it. The only downside is no effects loop I guess. But then again I almost never use the effects loop.

You missed the epic one week marriage of Askrere and someone (Janitor? CL400? Hell, I can't remember.) who now has to give Askrere half of his gear and future income. A pretty high price to pay for hitting that a few times.

They got away easy

Pretty sure I'm married to my wife.

It's 2015, you don't have to call me wife.

Ordered $135 shipped.

Hard decision, the swamp ash one seems more durable than this mahogany one but a strat pickups easier to upgrade than a P90. Also naked ash looked kind of weird in lap format.

Now to sell all my guitars and buy a squier mustang. For now I'll practice up and get myself used to the lap steel, then eventually GFS a lipstick pickup, 1meg pots, shielding and a wrap around tail piece.

A buddy of mine turned me on to the BBE Sonic Stomp/Sonic Maximizer and now I can't imagine a pedalboard without it.
Isn't it just a fancy mid-scoop? I guess if could work in tandem with some other effect, but it's certainly not my thing. I met a guy once who swore by his, but it was pretty obvious his "tone" was purchased, and not from actual knowledge of his rig.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I avoid those things like the plague.

It can get pretty scooped, yeah, but I think of it more as a presence knob. I have it set pretty mild, both knobs just a bit past noon.

The price we pay for taste and dip into a nice piece. C'est la vie.

I'm all about the release. Tension doesn't suit me so when it builds, a release will soon follow. Where or on whom makes no difference. Hell, I don't even care if they help with the clean up.

Man... I have cash and an svp cl just came up in the classifieds as well as a crest prolite 3.0... Basically what I originally wanted. Guy is asking a bit much in my opinion but those preamps are relatively rare. It's kind of ****ing on the Aggie idea, but man... It would be cool to save some money.
