Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I should probably stay active, since I've gotten no alerts for a few days.

So, although I like some death metal, I don't necessarily like the vocal style. Do all stoner/doom bands share the growled/screamed vocals, or do some have more traditional vocals?
No, there are a lot. I really like vocals from The Sword, Greenleaf, Red Fang, Dozer...check them out maybe.

All my dirt pedals do to regardless of guitar or bass I've used. Some setups are better than others. Fabtone and hm-2 are some of the squealiest things I've ever used. Soon as my fingers leave the strings it's a quivering banshee. I'm really good cavity shielding and a noise gate would be the best bet. ISP decimator seems to get the praise and there's a Mooer clone.
Really? I'm not surprised about the Fab Tone or HM-2, but all your pedals? Wow. And I was unaware of the Mooer clone of the ISP. Might look into that, since my Supercollider DOES have bit more noise than other pedals I've used.

Definitely not. Orange Goblin, Sabbath, Candlemass, Spiritual Beggars, Grand Magus, the list goes on. A vast majority of the stoner/doom bands I prefer don't have that style of vocals.

It's not the vocals I dislike, though. I love me some death metal. Just not my thing in stoner/doom. Each his own and all that.

Well, it is the most populous country in the world, and has been for hundreds of years. So it's not really surprising that wars and other such things would have the highest body count there.

Keep in mind that a 2000S cab is huge and therefore you will be dinging it a fair bit.

I just put new speakers in mine, actually.

If the thing she wants to do costs no money at all, why is it a bargaining thing equal to $400 worth of golf clubs?
It was ripping a really big scab of my foot, and it was going to hurt, so I made a wild offer and she accepted. What's a guy supposed to do?

All my dirty pedals squeal. Not all my pedals though. The joyo UD is probably the best at not squealing but it's also the lightest dirt.

I think it's the dirt combined with unshielded or poorly squiers generally with passive single coils.

LOL

What did the scab come from?

Vintage 80's Peavey T-45 Bass w/ Original Case. Made In USA!

This is a 1982 Peavey T-45 Bass; all original and in great condition for its age. The T-45 is the single pickup cousin to the T-40 Bass of the same era. These early T-Series guitars are very solid instruments with great hardware and build quality. [...]

She's a beaut Clark. They sound so good, that pickup in that sweet spot is thick and warm and oh so filling! I should of snatched up that one I diddled in Musicgoround in Wilkes-Barre for $299.

I had poison ivy on my ankles, that I was REALLY good about not scratching. So one night, I slide off the couch to play with my Dachshund on the floor, and in doing so, rubbed an itchy spot on the carpet. Now, my carpet is one step above prison-grade industrial, so it's pretty scratchy. Well, when that itchy spot met the scratchy carpet, it felt good. It felt reeeeaaaallll good. So, I rubbed it on the carpet a little more. Then some more. Then it went into a whole "friction-burn-inducing" ankle rubbing frenzy. Resulting in a half-dollar size abrasion. which scabbed over, and you know the rest of the story.

Regarding dirt box feedback, most of my fuzzes will feedback if I'm not playing or if the strings are unmuted. Most of my ODs and distortions don't. I've been using my gated fuzzes a lot lately, though, and that obviously helps. Plus, with an ISP Decimator at the front, that extra bit of noise gets cleaned up early in the signal and doesn't hit the fuzz and start howling.

@bassboysam Get some good Chicago food!

@kleinenenten I'll record a couple quick clips of the two BSW tones I (currently) like. One wah and one synth. Still trying to dial in a filter tone. Finally going to try them out with band tonight.

Wow, nice finish. I would impulse buy this if I hadn't just shelled out for parts for my Squier yesterday.

That sounds suspect, I'd believe your dog did that...

If you drink too much kava and fall asleep listening to Grails you run the risk of having nightmares. One where the doctor is using a power drill to perform sinus surgery on you and they make you wear a catheter for sinus surgery LOL. It was so lucid, I was even checking my texts in the doctor's office. I hate those you need to get up and go piss nightmares.

I've only been to Chicago once when I was like in 7th grade and my mom gave me these jeans one night and I told her they felt really tight and she said it just got dried to hard then.

We walked like all over, eat a big pizza Chicago style. Then I'm like ohhhh my balls. Turned out mom had given me her jeans and I was in a hurry to get dressed. I was so embarrassed I had to hold both parents hands and like skip walk like a war casualty for like a mile before they broke down and hailed a cab to bring my crushes balls back to the room to decompress.

My problem is opposite that my fuzz will not squeal and my od/dist is. I forgot to try passive mode last night. If that helps guess I'll lower the pole pieces and retest. Least it's intonated now, was fighting that at practice. Thought I had a bad set of strings.
