Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Awesome.

I have, on occasion. Why, is there an article about Oberyn Martell being a honey badger?

Nah the writers tend to use the same metaphors a lot and honey badger is one of them. They got bigger lately and got a lot more freelance writers and there's a lot more hit or miss to wade through and videos. Idk why I avoid funny internet videos. I just prefer to read my internet comedy.

Well basically I want something lighter\smaller but can't lose volume. I use the 300 mostly for a huge clean tone and let pedals do the dirt when needed.
I've read all about my options in the Amps section but really I only trust the opinions in this thread. hahaa. You guys know what rock n' roll is actually about.

It can do clean pretty damn well, but it is definitely more of a "dirty" amp. Might want something more like an SVT-7 Pro for a clean pedal format. That's not to say you won't like the TB. Mine takes pedals pretty well.
Thanks for the opinions guys. I guess I should really just try one out before I do anything I'll regret. The price\look\size of the Orange and the fact that a lot of you guys use them is just really appealing to me. I have no interest in the class D Ampeg stuff.

Well I think you should check out the PF-800 anyways. Doesnt do "dirty" as well as the Orange, but man if you like the ampeg tone it has it. I would take the PF-800 over the SVT 7 pro in a heartbeat.

Outside of that, you might want to wait for the new Peavey MiniMega to come out. Smaller yet, 1000 watts, 1500 burst. Street price of $500.

Hey I saw the MiniMega and that series listed in a sales magazine that came in at work. It had music gear and other electronic stuff in it and my boss tossed it on my desk. So guess you can order them. I have the mag at home, can't remember the name of the company now.
