In all honesty, I'm starting to think about getting a lighter amp, too.

I know. Maybe I should stick with the tubes until I'm old and actually can't lift it anymore.

It doesnt. 4 Ohm minimum. But the Carvin B1000 is 2 Ohm stable. I wouldnt be sad playing one of those if I was trying to push two 4 Ohm cabs.

And, regarding, Gravity - I thought it was freaking fantastic. It's kind of "boring", I guess, if you ignore subtle details and dangers, etc. But I loved it.

Nah, it's gaining popularity and has been used in power amps for several years now. Basically the power supply switches off whenever it isn't needed - which can be multiple times a second - thus reducing heat build up and increasing efficiency.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I guess I should really just try one out before I do anything I'll regret. The price\look\size of the Orange and the fact that a lot of you guys use them is just really appealing to me. I have no interest in the class D Ampeg stuff.

Personally the next non-Dunwich amp I'd get is an Aggie DB750/751.

The crate is the $50 50 watt 6l6 based amp I got too yesterday. Sounds great so zero complaints I just read something if that nature and felt around and only felt one big tranny in there.

I was wondering how one played them spaghetti westerny sounding licks on this, it's the reverb, makes this thing I wrote before more like two different songs now one quite westerny and the other a droney note thing.

Ever play with a Aguilar 659 preamp? A lot of the Demeter threads had guys loving that for a similar simple pre but with more dirt.

Seriously though dudes......would I miss my Fender Bassman 300 Pro that much if I sold it to fund a Terror Bass 1000???

I hate lugging mine around. But nothing else beats it in the huge clean tube tone category. My sunn 1200, the rackmount version of the amp sees waaaaay more stage time cos its alot easier to move, but I cant sell my 300 pro.
If you want "smaller/lighter" get the sunn or fender 1200 for like $400 and have both! All the volume, most of the tone and all the options and it KILLS!!
