Really can't think of many delays with a tone knob. Digitech Digidelay is a good cheap, decent sounding, versatile delay.

So I can have dark or bright delays if I want them. I find that the way I want to use it on bass I need a tone knob, otherwise it just makes a big droning mess, and that's not what I'm going for. The tone options let me hear when the delayed signal hits, instead of it mixing perfectly with the regular signal.Confused why you would want a delay to color the signal at all? Unholy Grail is the only delay I have and there is zero tone selection on it.
Basically, friday after work, I was listening to the new Chelsea Wolfe album, and had taken off my dirty work clothes in preparation for taking a shower. Sure, I was listening to it a little too loud. I heard a furious banging on my door.Sounds nasty, man.
Anybody have any input on a cheap but good delay? Preferably one with a tone knob, and that can do 600ms. I'm hoping to keep it under $50. I've seen the Joyos, but they don't have a tone knob. Is my Dan-Echo the only option in this range?

Eh, I don't fancy the idea of being punched down a flight of stairs.@Sartori sorry about that, but me thinks he needs to leave.
I'm not sure how I'd handle the situation, probably walk back inside soon as he started diverging from civil, cut all noise and sit patiently for the police or whatever he does next.
At the same time if someone called me all that I would just as likely be laughing my ass off. The bad/good news about laughing would be that I would be likely punched. Though then I own his ass, and he'd be moving for certain or I'd financially cripple him until the only option is to sell their genetic material so then they can't have douche bag babies.
Option three is pull an Eric Cartmen and trick his parents into coming over then grind them into chili and serve it too him as an apology. But he thinks you're creepy so he might be expecting that...

I answered, after getting dressed, as by then I could hear my upstairs neighbor yelling "OPEN THE ****ING DOOR!"
He was wanting to have a long conversation about my music being too loud, instead of just saying "dude, turn it down, it's been a long day and I'm trying to have dinner." When it became clear to him that I thought this should be a short conversation, not a long one, he accused me of being arrogant, having a "big vagina," and needing to "man up." Naturally, that pissed me the **** off, and it showed.
I did eventually agree to go outside and talk to him. He stopped yelling, but continued being insulting. Eventually he divulged that him and his wife are trying for a kid, and that I "freak" him "out" a bit, because I listen to "depressing, demonic music" that "disturbs him." Keep in mind, my neighbor is practically covered in tattoos, and listens to punk rock. So hearing this was a bit unexpected. He then went on to say that I also creep him out because I'm "always hiding down there" (I'm not hiding, I ****ing live there, my apartment is a basement), and because I'm a "weird loner." He apparently needed to know it was going to be "safe" for his family. So basically, asking if I'm some sort of child molester/psychopath.
Kinda ruined my friday.
So I might need to find a new place.
Eh, I don't fancy the idea of being punched down a flight of stairs.
Also I doubt that my landlords would appreciate two tenants in a row bringing the cops down on them when I'm pretty sure this apartment is illegal.
If dippoopie is really worried...
If dippoopie is really worried about his family he needs to rent or buy a house. If that's not an option than he needs to man up and quit picking fights with the neighbors.
I always tried to be over cautious about my music playing in apartments, small speakers on isolating foam, 20W amplifier, etc. Sucked but I didn't want to be that guy.
