Or get a bridge cover. Only draw back is you can't palm mute.
I usually pick more toward the back so that may actually not work now that I'm thinking about it.
Finish looks even better in person, more of a "honey natural" finish. Maple neck looks great on it. I gotta agree with @kzr750r1 that the off-white pups will look best with the w/b/w pickguard.
Someone should design a narrow width and adjustable height low profile bridge cover for Fender basses. So it just goes to the height you want above the saddles and starts at the edge of the saddles for palm muting.
I never palm mute on a bass - probably because I rarely use a pick. If the song requires it I do a mute with my fretting hand.
That was my Uncle Touchy's favorite game.
Probably still sends you nice presents every Christmas though.

I switch between left hand and right hand on bass for muting but I think that is because I started out playing guitar first. Getting better at left hand muting though.
Didn't use a pick for the first 9 years I played bass but made the switch last winter and haven't looked back. I like the extra attack I get.
I did break down and use a pic some last weekend. I get close to pick using my fingernail but there is something about the way the dirt pedals come alive with a fingernail or a pic. Or a punk styled 1-4-5 progression just sounds most correct with a pic.
I prefer the nails too. I hate long nails though as they get so dirty so fast. So I make do with very little nail.
This Polara doesn't seem to do very massive reverb. Like compared to vids I can't dial in nearly as massive a sound. Maybe it's the power source or settings somewhere I'll keep messing around. It can do crazy stuff in reverse with dirt, but I wanted crazy washy spring and haunting halls.
Otherwise Think I'm gonna flip it with a group of pedals I've been forming into a sell pile. Digitech supernatural or a cathedral I guess are back on the list of things to hunt. @mc_muench what reverb did you recently get?

Yeah I think you want that Supernatural reverb. Seems like it was created specifically for the post rockers so they could instantly get that sound.
Cool! Hope it works out! Yeah, KHUFU is moving down to a three piece, and changing our sound a bit, so writing new material. Our drummer out of the blue took a trip to Ecuador for two weeks, which was time we would have needed to prepare, so sadly had to cancel.

I used to play fingers 80%+ of the time, but since I picked it back up and started hitting the bass hard again the past couple years, I'm at least 50/50 fingers/pick. Some songs I feel still call for fingers, but like you say, I like the pick attack. I just enjoy the hell out of pick playing. I am amassing quite the collection of picks too. It's surprising to me how different the bass sounds just by switching to different picks.
Oh man, if that is the main reason you were thinking of ditching this place, stick around! We'll help you out. Yes, it is a place of enablers, but it's also got a lot of people (like me) who suffer some GAS with no possible outlet. I just scored a cheap combo amp as well as a $40 Squier bass and a $40 Strat knockoff, but that was my first gear purchase in over a year and will probably be my last for a good long while (although I hope to get a couple of cheap pedals...)

I can't play very well with a pick on bass, even though I started out playing guitar. Might have something to do with the extra heavy cables I have on it. Ah well.
