Lol I guess I could just cover the exposed side of the chassis and call it good. Like an amp tostada. Yea I read some scant forum talk saying 70's, reverb, tremolo etc. so I'll take a look.

Man that guy made off with a lot of stuff...

Update from my 4 "new to me" pedals today:
TU-3 - Does its job. That's all I can ask of a tuner.

DOD FX10 BiFet Boost - Seems really clean (much moreso than the DOD250 I was using!) as a boost, which is what I was hoping for. The tone knob seems really useful. Might have to get another one for the bass board since I actually have a minor solo part now. Or just repurpose another pedal for a boost. Joyo American?

Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus - Another Boss stalwart. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done and sounds pretty good while doing so. No complaints, worth what I paid and should do me fine for my limited bass chorus needs.

Boss ODB-3 Bass Distortion - Competent distortion solo, seems to get lost in the mix. The solo tone really surprised me though, as I hear this is a bit of a hit/miss pedal with people. I liked it, but might need some more low-mids if I were to really use it. Tips?

I love the ODB3. Best advice I can give is to use your ears when tweaking settings. You might have to set the knobs to odd places to get a good heavy tone that doesn't get lost, but there's some super heavy awesome tones in that pedal if you take the time to find them.

That's kinda how I was feeling last night, but only had about 10 minutes to tweak before practice. It sounded FAR better solo than I expected to be honest, and I don't really NEED another dirt pedal, but it may just replace my Joyo American for my mid-cut metal sound. Maybe then I can put the American to use as a boost as mentioned earlier? Back to knob twiddlin', it seems...

@askrere Here's what Small Bear told me for Boss knobs on their recent pedals. You would want to make sure that you have the full knurled shafts, and not half shafts. My ODB-3 has the half shaft pots, so I couldn't just swap a knob like I had originally planned. Anyway, if you have the full knurled shafts, these should work they tell me. I'll be ordering some momentarily.

So Yob was completely crushingly heavy. Lots of old stuff, killer set. Black Cobra killed it as always. That drummer is goddamned ridiculous. Jex Thoth opened, their first hometown show. It was decent, lots of old stuff, just didn't really grab me. Got home around 1:00, feeling it this morning. At least I only have one meeting today and can hide in the cube with headphones on.

NBD and NCD!!!

Okay, actually had both the bass and the car (NCD for car) for a few days, but I had some work done on the bass. The bass is a 2000-2001 Indonesian Squier Affinity P in Baltic Blue finish. Was going to refinish it in another color, but I'm digging the blue, especially after the facelift I gave it. I got this bass for $40, bundled into a layaway deal with an amp. Mods/upgrades include:

New pickguard
New pickups (old MIJs from a 70s P copy)
Fender chrome knobs
New wiring and jack
New SS roundwounds

Just a crappy cell pic I snapped this morning. Man, things sounds and plays and feels great. So much lighter than my old Japanese Lotus. Looks far better in person.

NEW (to me) CAR DAY:

2009 Chevy HHR. 77K miles, great shape. Got it well under Blue Book...guy who owns the lot is an old buddy...it's nice to have a good, decent ride. Current car is a 2003 Hyundai Elentra that has a crunched-up front end and is developing more and more problems...I believe the transmission will go out any time. Tiny thing too...too small for my family. I call it the "rusty tuna can."

Anyway, the HHR seems very nice, comfy, dependable...

Yeah, I will try for some outside pics that show the colors better. To me it looks better than I imagined.

I had some cream pickup covers I was going to put in, but they were a bit too wide for the routing in the pickguard, so rather than file the pickguard down, I just spray painted some black pickup covers cream.

I will post better pics. It's a pretty thing...
