Yeah, the Visual Sound ones work perfectly. I thought maybe it had to do with the tip of the adapter, as the VS ones only have the actual plug being metal, and the GC ones have metal going back in a washer type thing to the back of the plug. But it shorts out before that washer part even hits the pedal. Just as I was thinking of getting some old DODs! I don't want to pay an extra $5 for every pedal just to get an adapter.

The OC-2 only has one octave lower. And in my experience, a tone control wasn't necessary. Its a pretty clean sounding pedal.

Ummm... no? Unless this isn't the OC-2 you've been talking about... Confused here. Also, I've heard that the tone control can be handy if you have dirt down the line, which I most certainly will.

Did a little tracking tonight. Got some good classic rock bass toanz from this rig:

My MIJ Aria P > Ampeg B25B > 412 cabinet. Very round & fat. Threw a MD421 in front and the Countryman behind. Funny thing is, an old bandmate of mine (that owns that rig) is in a band with the dude that runs the studio. I used to use that rig for practice & gigs many moons ago, so I knew it well. :p

But then what's the direct knob for? And the page specifically says one octave and two octaves below... To quote the official Boss page:
"
The OC-2 Octave pedal lets users fatten up their sound by adding two additional tones--one and two octaves below the original note. Each tone has a separate volume control and plays back with outstanding clarity"

That sounds to me like 2 octaves, plus the original note, and the direct knob must be how loud you want the original note to be. I guess you must know your stuff if you have one, but if that's the case, Boss need to get it together with their descriptions because this is highly misleading if it only does one octave.

Sub $75 I guess I should clarify.

I'm realizing I need two boards. One very ambient and spacey, another just pure dirt.

So this is for the spacey one. I need something that can get really weird but still on point. Tuner > slow volume > Bassballs > Joyo UD > Cathedral > ???

Others just gonna be a tuner, HM-2, BB thing.
