I'm still trying to find good places to use the 105Q wah in the band setting. I think I found a good spot in one of the new songs we've been working on. But really, I think I could live without it.
Pretty much this. It's fun for wakka wakka, but my big hang up was I was unsure how easy it would be to dial in different cocked wah tones and it's not hard to get back to different areas of tone and stay there.
SG not bass if that changes anything. It's like a vaguely synthy tone knob I can move on the fly.
I don't post here nearly enough.
Probably because every time I do I want to buy more gear....that I don't need.

As a sci-fi fan, I like the name of your band. All super-weapon-y.
I'll come north, but I'm not going outside. I dislike winters more and more in my dotage.
Yeah, used to be the satanic summer heat and humidity in this part of the country that I loathed so much it nearly drove me to violence. The last summer I lived in Tulsa (several years back) there was something like 21 days in a row of 100+ temps (often 110 or more) with 80% or higher humidity. Cloudless, breezeless, just punishing hot heat. The baking asphalt would still be giving off heat waves in the middle of the night and early morning. I remember thinking "Why would anyone voluntarily live in this hell?"
Now I still don't deal with extreme heat terribly well (and the summers here have mellowed considerably the past few years) but it's now the cold that gets to me. Gets into my bones and adds to my already-ceaseless aches and pains...
Be nice to be in San Diego or someplace where it hovers around 75 most of the time...I'd be happy if it never got below 50 or above 80.
And also--dotage? How old are you exactly, you geezerish fvck?
This, and just plain old gloomy days. So far this year Fall in Virginia has been looking like Fall in PA. Death of the season I called it back in PA. I torture myself by watching videos of sunny states lol. Funny how much you think about how long it is till retirement age in your forties. Hopefully I live somewhere close to the I-10 corridor someday. Wish I could work from home so I could be a premature snow bird. Northern Summers and Southern Winters would be wicked.

I'll never be able to retire most likely. Yeah, The Gloom is one thing I don't miss about Portland. Cool town and I'm glad we got to live there, but 6 months of overcast and raininess got to my whole family. From March to October the weather is beautiful, magical, perfect. The other half of the year is oppressively gray.
I love some overcast, rainy days; just not 6 months of them in a row. Also, no real storms up there. One thing I really missed about living near each coast is massive storms with lots of thunder and lightning. That we have plenty of in Oklahoma.
Ah, and here I thought I was the Elder Statesman here. Now I feel vibrant and alive again, you ancient mummy fart.
I figure if I keep driving used cars and be happy with foreclosed homes then I may be able to retire lol. I am fine with my summer home being a trailer/foreclosed home/van down by the river/shed/mud hut

It means you mistrust the weather report. We are either going to get rain, 5" of snow, 10" of snow, or it will be 80* and sunny on saturday.
Ha! If I didn't have a family I'd be perfectly happy in any of those dwellings.
My wife and I have discussed living in an RV full time after the kids have moved out, but I've researched it quite a bit and it's really not a cheaper way to live. The only real benefits are that it's mobile and you own it (or are paying towards ownership of it.)
But I keep telling her, you have to consider:
-You are making a payment on the RV.
-You are making a payment (probably) on at least one other vehicle.
-You are paying for gas (and paying a lot if you travel in the RV to any extent)
-You are paying rental/lot fees for almost anywhere you have the thing parked (unless you own land you can camp it on)
-You are paying insurance on your vehicle(s)
-The upkeep/maintenance costs are likely quite high
-The insurance on RVs if one is your "permanent residence" is apparently crazy high.
...and I am sure there are other considerable costs I haven't accounted for here. Plus, you might be buying the supposed security of owning something, but items like this do nothing but depreciate in value and the space you are giving up is another cause for concern for me.
